    The specs seem ambiguous as to webcam resolution, with both 720p and 1080p stated.

    Given the price, I’d guess it’s more likely to be 720p.

    also worth noting that the keyboard is not backlit, and screen rather dim at 250 nits, both to be expected at this price. (edited)

    250nit display with no alternatives to select - sad. ;[ If you do decide to go for this, be sure to upgrade to dual channel memory as it will nearly double the graphical performance on this. An 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz module can be picked up for 10-15 quid on ebay.

    5550u will play GTA V at decent settings so is good for older games or more recent ones at low settings. It’s a decent cpu with vega7 graphics.

    From my experience, the 5500U model will play GTA V. However, "playable" is a matter of opinion as, at least in online mode, I would get no more than 40-50 FPS even on lower settings with drops into as low 20-30 in the city. It wasn't a pleasant experience. That's even with dual-channel memory.

    Not going to recommend anyone buy this laptop for GTA V gaming, but I guess it's a plus that it can at least run it to some degree if you are getting it anyway.

    Besides, it would take about an hour to download GTA V with this slow Realtek card as it maxes out at about 30MB/s or so.

    No, you'd need to get rid of the 256GB to swap in a larger one. Can put a 2.5" SSD in though as that spot is spare. (edited)
