I think you'd be crazy to spend this much on an 8gb system. Get an i5 8350 refurb laptop from itzoo for a third the price instead if you're happy with just a basic 8gb laptop. If you're happy to spend £400, 16gb should be a minimum.

Personal opinion, RAM is cheap as chips at the moment, 8GB stick is about £12+VAT. Also, 8th gen i5 is now 6 years old :/ you could get those on eBay for quarter of the price. Whatever suits you.

Still better than glued iPads or MS surface devices. Batteries, memory and storage still easily changeable/upgradable. As long as you are confident opening up a laptop.

Can't make up my mind if these offers are real or just as glitch. Clicking on the "Black Friday in July" offers page it seems like there are limited quantities on various laptop configurations. Mostly showing as nearly all claimed now. Whatever you try to customize and order has a delivery date in August??!

Seems to be worth a punt for this Vostro 14 or Inspiron 15. Hmm
