Tempted, but the reviews suggest if might not be that accurate. I wonder if anything else would be more accurate in a similar price category or a bit more. Or, is it a big jump to say 3-400 quid. Hmm.

Looking for something to get straight cuts through say 18mm mdf, ply, pine etc for furniture making etc.

I would recommend the entry level Dewalt (7485 I think)
Its more expensive but is super accurate and will scale with your woodworking experience.
With tools like this, my mantra is “if its not accurate it’s not useful”.
I haven’t used this saw so cant speak for its accuracy, but I think theres likely an element of you get what you pay for.

I got the 10" version with stand.

Needed to adjust for accuracy and safety once assembled (make blade 90 degrees to table top and parallel to guide).

Some videos online showing how to adjust.

I would suggest that if not used one beforehand you should definitely view one of the many safety videos before using.

The danger comes when you don't know what you are doing or think you do and get complacent.

In hindsight I should have got one years ago instead of making do with a circular saw.
