I've just been researching this saw this morning! I'm curious to see if anyone out there has one to comment on quality

I have one of these I bought it a few months ago on the same offer at £85. It's well built sturdy I've used it to cut laminate flooring and trims so far and it's been fine plenty of power no issues.
I haven't used the original blade it's supplied with though, I bought a 80 tooth finer blade from Saxton blades as when cutting laminate more teeth are better to avoid chipping the coating. I've had no issues with chipping nice clean cuts.

I've also used the 45 degree mitre and these are also generally fine. However one side mitre seems slightly out, I think this is because I need to adjust the alignment on the fence , which is common with all mitre saws you need to sometimes fine tune alignment out of the box. There's instructions to do this in the manual

Also comes with a spare pair of motor brushes which is useful. I don't think you can go wrong for the price. 2 year warranty as well.

It would have been nice if it had the preset clicks on the turntable to lock to 0,45 degrees etc like some more expensive saws but it's no big deal. (edited)

I bought one for the same price a few months ago and think it is better than the previous Evo but have not used it to the same extent - you can only do one loft conversion per house! Seems very well made and slices through softwood. It does come with a rather coarse blade but I had a finer spare from aliexpress (£9 in the sale) that slid right in, just depends what finish you need in your wood.

Could this cut metal with the right blade installed?

I have this saw and although you can buy blades that will fit this to cut metal, the instruction manual advises that you shouldn't use this saw for cutting metal due to plastic parts like blade guards and mouldings potentially getting damaged/melting with the sparks from cutting metal. Generally this saw is for wood and plastics.

It's £76.50 if you've got a Blue Light card. You just log on to your account and search for Wickes, click on the link and the discount is applied once you put the saw in to your basket:

Can't see any wickes discount on the app?

Thanks OP, don't really need it because I have a non sliding mitre that I've hardly ever used but I've justified the purchase to myself for the sliding mechanism (that I'll probably never use )

    Sounds 100% reasonable to me

Picked one of these up at the weekend to sort out some fencing I’m fitting. Very happy considering the price.

I am thinking of buying this over the weekend. Has anyone bought and tried it yet? I would be keen to know peoples opinions before buying a large piece of kit.

It's on par with every other one in the price range (under £150 ish). Other thing it lacks that a couple of others have is the distinct set points for common angles like 45° but I've no issue lining up.
