About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
I may get shot down for this, but I think given Gibson Burstbuckers, CTS Pots, 50s wiring and the Mallory caps that come inside these, the price is actually really nice. Considering the Epiphone Customs on offer now come up at about £599.
I have one of these myself and can personally vouch for the quality. They're extremely well built, are as heavy as you'd expect (Mine is a touch over 9lbs) but it's just so slick to play. Personally I'd love to seen stainless steel frets and a rosewood fretboard on these, ideally.
The new models have just released with the Gibson headstock and a set of custombuckers in there. So I guess this is why we have the drop in price on these. The price of it though £1,199 which is absolute insanity in my eyes. Where's the value going!
Back to the older one in this deal... The headstock is a modern one, which is much better looking than the old design in my opinion, but it's not the latest Gibson one that you get on the new 1959 model. The finish is like satin, although I polished mine off to shine it back up, as I wasn't keen. You may love it yourself, but it's a nice easy thing to do if you're happy to do a little work.
It comes with a decent hardcase, which is all pink and fluffy on the inside You can See a pic of that below.
Overall it's a very nice instrument, that's well spec'd for those with a bigger budget for a quality Epiphone, that's been kitted out with some nice features. It won't be for all, as this sort of money isn't what most wanting an Epiphone will be willing to spend. I think it has to tick all of your boxes to make sense. Go try one out if you can, as it will give you a much better idea of how good it will be for you.
There's some videos below, with one comparing this to the Epiphone Slash, which may be worth a watch, if you've been tempted by that or wondered what the main differences are. I'm not much of a fan of signature models myself, but totally get that some love em

Highlights:
At A Glance
The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Outfit Aged Dark Cherry Burst is a Limited Edition model made in partnership with Gibson Custom Shop resulting in a striking look and sound. This recreation of a vintage classic gives you the iconic look we all know and love. It obviously looks great but how does it sound? Well, not only do you get a pair of Gibson BurstBucker pickups but CTS Pots and 50s Era Wiring are also present to fulfill all of your tonal needs. If you want the vintage look and feel then this is one for you!
Gibson BurstBucker Pickups
Armed with a pair of Gibson USA BurstBucker pickups, this guitar can kick out some seriously good tone. From smooth blues leads to screaming rock riffs, these Gibson pickups are a great addition to this Epiphone.
AAA Figured Maple Veneer
This gives you the striking good looks of the figured maple grain further enhanced by the finish colour but keeps the price at a sensible level. With aesthetics like this you can't go wrong!
Hand-Rolled Neck Profile
The 1959 Rounded C neck profile has been hand-rolled to provide superior levels of comfort. You can expect to find yourself playing for much longer than usual thanks to this feature.
Who Is It For?
If you want a classic looking Les Paul but with some extra benefits then look no further than this Limited Edition model.

The Gibson headstock and USA wiring + Gibson USA 490R / 498T pickups.
It's like Epiphone are pulling themselves out of the more budget friendly market over Gibson, to end up being where Gibson were price wise a few years ago. They're going to need another budget brand name soon enough
Granted that the parts on offer in the new Epi Custom are indeed awesome, that price is insane!
Hopefully the hard case it comes with, is full of £20 notes
