Introducing Our New Sherry Cask Finish.

Matured in sherry seasoned, Spanish oak casks, our hand selected Speyside malts are given rich warmth and smooth sweetness, like never before.

What gives this whiskey its distinct character is our combination of sweet and rich flavours, striking spice with a sweeter balance.

Sherry Cask Finish comes from a place of sweet fruits giving us a balanced aroma of fresh oranges and poached pears. You’ll also smell moist sultanas and cocoa beans with warm hints of sweet cinnamon and ginger spices. Rich in character, Smooth in texture.

This new, revived blend is extra matured in Sherry casks seasoned in the region of Jerez, Spain. Creating a blend that is slightly sweeter but still in keeping with the smooth and distinct DNA of classic Grouse.

The Sherry Cask Finish is a decadent blend of festive flavours including chocolate, almonds, dried fruits, and sweet spices. Serve our blended whisky in a highball glass, with soda water and an orange wedge.

Tasting Notes
  • Appearance: Dark red-gold with amber glow
  • Aroma: A balance of fresh orange and poached pear, cherry blossom, moist sultanas, cocoa beans intermingled with sweet cinnamon and ginger spice.
  • Taste: Smooth in texture, rich in character. A combination of oaky vanilla, dark chocolate, maple syrup, toasted almonds and hazelnuts.
  • Finish: Rich and smooth. Warming notes of dried fruits in Christmas cakes with a long sweet, spice finish.

The packaging pays tribute to the Spanish female capercaillie bird, part of the grouse family. This particular bird was chosen for its link to the product’s Spanish Sherry heritage, as well as its orange and red plumage, which ‘echoes the deep amber’ of the liquid.

Tried this on holiday last month, a bargain 1L bottle from World Duty Free at Heathrow.
It's nice with ice & Sicilian lemonade, or with bitters for a good Old Fashioned. (edited)

Didn't taste it but for some reason have a feeling it's sickening sweet

Not sweet at all, no sugar added.
It's been finished in old sherry casks, so the whisky picks up a "slight sweetness" from the cask, that's all.
Quite a common thing with whisky.

The Certified “Sherry Cask” Guarantee LabelIn 2015, Consejo Regulador registered the “Sherry Cask” brand and drafted a document to regulate the production of Sherry-seasoned casks for quality control. To obtain the “Sherry Cask” guarantee label, the production of Sherry-seasoned casks should meet the following criteria:

    • The cask has to be filled to at least 85% of the total volume, with a certified Sherry wine made by bodegas registered with Consejo Regulador.
    • The cask has to continuously hold the wine at the required fill level throughout the entire seasoning process. This means bodegas can’t empty the cask and re-fill it with other wines in between.
    • The minimum seasoning period is one year.
