Some interesting items coming to Lidl from the 9th of May. My daughter (5) has been banging on about corndogs for a few days (Thanks to YouTube) We don't have a lidl local, but I may make some at some poit

Duff beer is back as well, at £1.29 per 500ml can, which is alright for the cash. Nice and cold though

Could also be worth checking your app for further discounts

Will probably check out the corn dogs and what looks to be a proper Chicago style pizza. Both things that are pretty hard to get here.

Be aware this isn't American food, this is American-style food as interpreted by Germans and made on the cheap, and seems to more specifically be like a very exaggerated midwestern stereotype palate. lol Just saying, dont judge the real thing based on this, cuz I assure you that this Chicago-style pizza is going to pale to the real deal. Sadly, there's just very few places I've seen here in the UK that do authentic Chicago-style.

Those corn dogs dont look right, either.

I'll probably buy some anyways too just to see, but I dont trust it, even if they do reasonable approximations of other country foods. This feels almost mean-spirited, like they should have put pickup trucks and some fat yokel in overalls on the box. lol

EDIT: I see they'll have Sweet Baby Rays. That's genuine American BBQ sauce and definitely worth buying. (edited)

Of all the middle of Lidl food stuff, USA is the worst..so much processed rubbish.

It's not even that it's processed(so much food is processed), it just seems like they really have a super negative, stereotypical view of American food or something. It feels almost like a novelty joke rather than the more serious attempt like they do with other countries.

Shouldn't this be "Flavor of The Week"?

lol i wonder why the simpsons hasnt sued yet.... I need to call Homer. Actually no, he'd probably buy all the beer in the shop for that price. I'll ring Moe. (edited)

I did an Iceland shop last night and I bought some TGI Friday brand corndogs. Haven't had the delivery yet.

This probably isn't the place for Iceland delivery issues

Does anyone else find it frustrating that stuff is sometimes stuck under the wrong price tags in Lidl and Lidl plus pricing is confusing. Example in todays hard copy leaflet i picked up last week page 4 it shows the Formil Laundry detergent 42 washes at £2.29 when you go on the app and look at he price on the leaflet its £1.99. In addition to this because its a Lidl Plus offer you normally after activate it BUT this product does not show up in the ALL section of vouchers to be activated BUT it does show up in the offers button on the botton tab on the phone app. Very confusing.

It's looks like they have made some recent changes. They now have a "lidl plus for you section" which contains vouchers you have to activate and then an offers section with lidl plus prices that you don't need to activate to get the offer they automatically apply offer when you scan your plus card similar to tesco. Also the one your referring to for £2.29 is the laundry cleanser which comes in a similar sized bottle to the laundry detergent.

The best week they've done is the Japanese week.
This one I tend to swerve.

What do they do on Japanese week? I'm always hugely skeptical of supermarket Japanese food.

I tried the Chicago style pizza. Verdict?

Passable. Biggest issue is the tomato sauce needs a bit more of a flavour kick, it's basically tinned tomato with a light sprinkling of herbs, a bit too weak. Also could really do with some spiced sausage below the tomato (but at £2.49 that's a bit of an ask).

I enjoyed it a bit but it felt like a tomato tart more than a pizza pie. Hard to really criticize it given it's £2.49 which is cheap for an uncommon item.

Had some Duffs on the weekend. Absolute rubbish, tasteless lager. Avoid

I actually bought some more and I'm not sure if they've changed it. It was pretty bitter tasting, so didn't open another. I'm sure it wasn't like that the first time. Do'h
