Worth noting here that if you cancel the trial, HP will remotely stop your instant ink catridges from functioning once it's over.

What happens if you cancel Instant Ink?
If you decide to cancel your HP Instant Ink, you can go back to using HP original Standard or XL cartridges. HP Instant Ink cartridges will not work after the end of the current billing cycle in which you cancel.

    Avoid HP.

They push updates to printers so they are *FORCED* to use only HP brand ink. Updates which you can't undo. They basically control your printer remotely and can change whatever they like, you don't own it. Instant Ink is part of their new strategy for extracting as much money as possible from their customers.

I wouldn't touch HP printers with a barge pole, because whose to say they don't jack up their Instant Ink prices tomorrow, lock you out of non-HP ink, and you're left with either an expensive paper weight or pay through the nose into the future because they know you have no choice. Disgusting company.

It depends if you fit in one of their use categories. If your a light user and the carts may dry up before fully used it makes sense,

Many of the newer HP p[einters (even without Instant Ink and Dynamic Security) are using chips on cartidges that the clone ink people cannot copy so you may have to buy HP original carts even if you are using the instant ink program.

I'm pretty sure with their instant ink sub they update your firmware so that you cant use third party inks and even if you dont continue their sub, theres no way to downgrading thus you being stuck with a firmware thatr prevents you from buying third party inks....or something like that. Correct me if i'm wrong i just remembered someone talking about this on a video i watched a couple of days ago (edited)
