Customer service and the provider itself are generally regarded by many as fairly poor but I would say an extremely good deal for six months especially for those who require o2 backbone 🔥🔥

Agree. Not as good as Lebara for cs

Looks like a good deal. I'm very tempted as I'm on Lebara, but my discounted period has come to an end. I'll happily give Lyca a go and see what it's like. Coverage seems to be decent in my area too.

This would be an ideal second sim for anyone going on holiday that doesn't want to be stung by the daily charges other networks have now enforced. £3.75 for 3.5GB isn't a bad deal for roaming. Especially if your hotel has WiFi too.

I tried to amend a mistake I made on my contract 2 weeks ago. I have tried every single option on the customer services number to speak to someone, hrs and hrs. Customer service is completely unmanned. Every option is met with an automated message. I mean there is no possible way to discuss anything with a human!
Please phone and check this out yourself! Just another thing this completely automated customer service is only available from 9-5. Absolute joke.

I'd double-check the Ts and Cs, but these deals seem to be for new *SIMs* specifically. So, you can add it to your account but not as a replacement - especially if you had wanted to port your number. If you didn't mind throwing out the old plan and SIM completely, i.e. letting it lapse at the end of its billing period, you should be able to add it onto your current account. However, it would be *in-addition-to* your current plan and *not* as a replacement to it. I've done this myself to use one SIM to hold my personal number and the other for data and phone calls I can't make on WhatsApp, etc.

And yes, their customer service is a mixed bag, but I've found them to be as helpful as they could be but they have learned to hide behind those Ts and Cs at the first sign of trouble and, yes, English isn't their first language - not because they're indifferent to their customers, like.. oh, say.. picking a company entirely at random, Virgin.

Post script: No need to enter name, address, etc. just log into Lyca, follow the link here, then check your cart in Lyca. It *should* show up there without needing to go through the other stuff as if creating a new account. Just remember if you do it this way you will be getting a SIM *in-addition* to your current Lyca SIM. And I don't say it that way because I think you're stupid but because some people will read *only* my post script.

30-day SIM, so you'd just need to turn off auto-renewal and that would be it. They keep your number active for 90 days after that, so plenty of time to transfer away.

WARNING - Lycamobile CS is practically nonexistent. They never sent me my confirmation email and you can't activate the SIM without it. There's no way I entered my email wrong because I used the standard autofill I use for everything.

CS is outsourced to the Philippines, the girl barely understood me. Was told to email, I sent an email and there's not even an auto message confirming receipt of your email. I literally just emailed an empty void three weeks ago and got nothing. Waste of money and time.

Tried to request PAC to switch away as O2 isn’t great where I am - I have never had such bad service ever, been hung up on 4 times, can’t get PAC via sms short code, excuse after excuse after excuse that I’ve ended up having to report it to ofcom who have agreed it’s a breach of their regulations. I would stay WELL clear of these cowboys, it’s not worth the hassle. Lebara is a million times better in my years of experience using them.
