trade in values have dropped a lot. I traded in an iphone 6s last time for £145 now they'd only offer £16 (edited)

Got this for 199 Vodafone, battery life is appalling.

Mine last two days on average. One and a half with very heavy screen time.

Excellent trade in value for S20 FE 5G! Full £220 and I know a lot of people paid way kess than using Samsung's trade in a while back.

    S20 FE is better

Only voted hot as it's a great device, amazing picture etc. Bought for £109 with a trade in of pixel 4a 5g at Currys

It is sad that there are no more new Android One phones. The pixels seem to be the only way to get reliable updates for several years.

Samsung offer 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security updates on a lot of their models. Maybe worth looking at? Probably cost more than the Google phones, though.

I love mine - well worth it at this price but I think it'll be less before long.

Love everything but the fingerprint reader. 4 fingerprints max and I have scanned two fingers twice (which worked beautifully on my Sony Xperia 5) but on this rarely gets me in on the first try. Weirdly, once past the lockscreen, it works flawlessly for banking apps/etc...just unlocking is weird. I think I am getting about 20% success rate :/

I have tried a glass screen protector and currently using a "hydrogel" one to make it as thin as possible...no difference.

Ultimately I sold mine and bought an used Pixel 5 instead.

That said, I did get the finger print scanner working better eventually by scanning my finger at a bit of an angle. Transpires that it's quite difficult to put your thumb on the screen at the exact angle of the scanner when on the move.

Unfortunately I'd already listed the phone on eBay and sold it before I got to that point

I missed the Vodafone offer a while back, but pretty sure this will be 200 notes again soon enough.

Is it worth trading my S20FE now in for this and then trading this for the 7a, I wonder...... 🫣 (edited)
    Shrinkwrap's avatar
Just wait for the 7a, the S20 FE is a better phone.

I got the Vodafone offer but found the signal strength to be terrible, a bit of Googling revealed they put a hunk of junk modem in this phone. Just search for "pixel 6a modem issues" or similar. If you live in an area with poor/average coverage, you may struggle.

FYI, if anyone is interested - Tesco have started doing Pixel phones.

And they don't increase the prices during the contract.

Also can be had for £234 with a £12.50 1-month contract.

Seems like they'll "trade in" a lot of old phones for £44 - even my previous, now VERY old phone (Moto E 2nd gen).

Would these be likely to get even cheaper once the 7a is unveiled? I don't recall what happened to the 4a price when the 6a was unveiled (edited)
