    GoPro were undisputed kings of small rugged cameras. Those days are gone. They have hit-or-miss quality control nowadays, so freezing and software bugs are a problem for many buyers. Also, GoPro are still using a tiny sensor which is absolutely dreadful as soon as the sun goes behind some clouds. Completely unusable in indoor lighting or nighttime.

    Loads of YouTubers who used GoPros for years have now quietly switched over to DJI Action 4, Insta360 Ace Pro and even DJI Pocket 3. Those have a better user experience and the ability to use a bluetooth wireless microphone and get good sound is a real bonus too. GoPro 12 claims to allow bluetooth mic connections but the sound quality is awful
