    I cannot see how this is a good buy overall unless you have the same platform with a Pentium or similar.

    I wouldn't build a new system on LGA 1700 around this, however if you are upgrading from a Pentium it would be okay. I suppose you could go to Intel 14th gen also...

    I'm on 9th gen intel (9400f), I want to upgrade the cpu, I can get this and a 12th/13th/14th gen mobo (preowned) for cheaper than a 2nd hand 9900k, seems a no brainer especially looking at the benchmarks. (edited)
