Great device and what a price that is got mine new at release for £650 and its replace my desktop pc. Play games on the go and then at home i plug it up to a Razer Core X Chroma with a 4070 graphics card and so far its doing a stellar job at every game ive thrown at it!

I have been researching and contemplating on what the best PC handheld is out of three choices: This, ROG Ally, and Steam Deck OLED.

Each has its pros and cons, of which I’m fully aware. Steam Deck OLED may be an all-rounder, but it has issues with not being able to play anti-cheat games and it’s based on older ZEN 2 APU...

Legion Go and ROG Ally don’t have those issues as they are Windows devices and based on ZEN 4 APU, but it’s also a drawback because battery life seems to be worse in all cases.

I honestly don’t know which one to go for. Does anyone have any advice? I already have good enough gaming PC..but I want to have something portable. (edited)

if google there are plenty good ROG Ally v Lenovo Go comparisons pieces out there. This one is a more recent one - trustedreviews.com/ver…577

    * The Steam Deck to me is increasingly becoming the past and having been well superseded is never part of the conversation. Even as the budget option which other than a big legacy user base, is about all it has now, its not ever that much less than can acquire an entry model ROG Ally for.

    * Disclaimer - this upsets many early adopters/hardcore Steam Deck gamers, sorry, but its the technology evidenced + what I think (no further comment).

I returned mine and got back to Ally. Speakers are abysmal, screen is fantastic, legion space is horrendous and legion command opens maybe 1 out of 5 times I've pressed the button. It's heavy but not unwieldy, and it was comfortable in my hands. The bigges issue for me was docking it to LG C1 TV. While with Ally it's a case of plug it in via dock, hold finger on power button and turn on Xbox controller. Legion go however... From lack of fingerprint reader (you can't use controller to type in pin either) to games and/or desktop being sideways, even though it's set to be reverse landscape. Sometimes desktop would be in right orientation, but games (Fallout 76, GTA V) would run in... Portrait... With landscape desktop in the background. Controllers have too many buttons, especially the FPS controller that has buttons on the side, that you keep pressing while holding the console (not that it does anything). Integer scaling is only good if you're blind, it's better than 800p but it's nowhere near as good as people make it be. Performance-wise it actually scored 200pts more than Ally in 3D Mark Time Spy for me, but in games it stuttered a lot regardless if custom 30W, 15W or Performance 20W with OS in Efficient or Performance. Overall half baked product. 1200p was good enough for me. RSR never worked. The FPS controller in FPS mode worked surprisingly well in RTSes like Command & Conquer.
Battery life was about 20 mins longer than Ally in the same scenarios. Great kickstand.

    "May be cosmetically challenged"

We've readed an era when even hardware defects need to be PC.

I got one of these a few weeks back on the same deal.

Absolutely love it. Always surprises me how well it performs even some of the most demanding games . And the bigger screen at 1600p is so nice for the indies .
