wouldn’t take any contract with Lyca even if they paid me money! … my number was inaccessible for 3 days after the scheduled port date and i still can’t reactivate apple imesssges. Customer support makes atrocious look appealing. I’ll be porting out before the months up. Made a big mistake, despite reading the horrid experiences of others. (edited)

Thinking of getting this as 02 are absolutely terrible network (full signal but no data). I'm locked in to a contract with O2 until April. Anyone successfully got O2 to release them early? I tried and all they gave me was a £30 account credit, which covers nearly 4 months.

I just kept complaining and they kept giving me bill credit

Can you cancel after a month if you don’t like? Thinking of using for kids abroad?

Has anyone had issues transferring their number to Lyca before?

I've transferred two numbers to them using their website, no problem with either.

Had to give up on them after a month. Could not get any 5G signal in the middle of a strong supported area. Switched to 1p and 5G works perfectly well, also supprts WiFi calling an roaming includes the Channel Islands.

Just left lyca, terrible cs very bad app, and no WiFi calling which is important to me, as i live in a rural village. Network was very poor, lots of dropped calls etc, we had the 100gb £10 MSE deal.

As soon as i added a new bank card, (old one expired) our bundle deal was terminated!

Tried to reach out to them on 3 occasions (today) and was given no apologies, just "would you like to add some more credit for a new bundle"
Good job we have now received out PAC codes. Looking for a 12month EE sim only deal for upto £10. I haven't seen any 12 month deals under £10, are there any?? (edited)

Best deal out there is 100Mb for £8 after cashback (from £16) at mobiles.co.uk. 12 month contract. Cashback works ok but remember to claim (online). Reception probably not as good as EE.

I'd think twice about this deal. Their customer service is very bad and apparently closed over the weekend.

DON'T DO IT! They lost two of my numbers... you can get a PAC code but they deny that the number is theirs, so you lose the number you are trying to transfer (the number having been transferred in by PAC when joining Lyca). Awaiting the 8 weeks to go to Ofcom, as requests for a deadlock letter get no response. Also Lyca don't allow tethering. (edited)

Can I share my device’s data connection through a personal hotspot or tethering?

Yes, Personal hotspots and tethering are methods of sharing your mobile device’s data connection with another device, like a laptop or games console. So, if you’re in an area with no Wi-Fi, but you have a 4G or 3G signal, you can use that signal to go online. If you do this frequently, we recommend you monitor your data usage by dialling *137# and follow the instruction. A personal hotspot lets you share your device’s data wirelessly, so it’s also called ‘wireless tethering’ or a ‘Wi-Fi hotspot. Tethering lets you do the same thing, using a USB cable instead of a wireless connection. Iphone users may need to enter personal hotspot’s APN: data.lycamobile.co.uk under the setting. Mobile Data:> Mobile Data Network:> Personal Hotpot :> APN :>

    No real problems with Lyca.

Thought I had just lost my number. But that was the RCS quirk so nothing to do with Lyca.
