    Watch out for these guys...

I recently got the "3 months unlimited data" for 10£ per month, then back to £25 a month deal.

I payed £10 for the first month.
They charged me £25 for the second.
I complained.... Got spotty and terrible communication back about the issue....a promised refund that never arrived...I said "please make sure this doesn't happen next month" they said "of course not"

It happened again and I'm still, nearly 2 months later, trying to get my now £30 refund back.

Their support messages feel like autoreplies... Like take no heed of points I make but feel like template replies.

I still don't know if I'll get my money back but I'm definitely leaving.

They'll probably contact you when you request a PAC code to leave (They have with me).

Also for information, I'm on the 100gb for £10 deal and they offered me the same data for £8 if I agreed to stay.

    Lyca. Lyca is the catch

does this sim allow it to be used as a hotspot occasionally (such as if your home broadband goes down temporarily )
    marianhorti's avatar
Yes, it does. i use mine as a hotspot daily.

The hassles that have been clearly documented on here with lyca over the past few months really puts me off ....they always seem to have cracking deals too 😞
    deepmenace's avatar
same as most stuff that "bad" - if its fine, its fine.
but if you have to interact with their support system it will probably be a nightmare.

I have a current Lyca SIM and have had consistent issues. Seems like the network is still down since the 30th?
    thegalaxyboy's avatar
Probably a good omen as my transaction keeps failing...

I ordered this sim card, didn't receive any email confirmation neither received the SIM card yet! Money was deducted from my account; I have been calling them ever since nobody responded to me 😞
    45ure's avatar
I was in the same situation. But cba to chase these clowns and did not expect a swift resolution, so I disputed the transaction with the bank. It was mainly to stop them using payment details and then claim ignorance and blame it on the hack.

Avoid Lyca they are currently offline due to cyberattack for 9 days now…..

I got a previous deal with Lyca and I am now switching away. No network coverage to the extent that I couldnt even generate the code to move to a new provider. Try it if you want but be warned once you run out of data, the network coverage was non existent despite trying the fixes their customer service suggested. Though I did get a fairly fast response on their online chat.
  11. POPs_Chohan's avatar
I bought a Lyca sim, wanted to port my number.
No onevto take a call. No One responded to my Emails
    12 days on.
Contacted Barclaycard to stop any further payments and get my first premium back.

Any unlimited data for 6 months deals?
  13. shybeauty's avatar
No contract- does that mean I can cancel after 6 months?

    Yes, you can

Be aware 5g doesn't work with Pixel phones on Lyca

Can we please get Lebara to offer 6 months now

    And eSIM please 🙏

My sim port is due today and I think it won’t go in due to these issues. Travelling in a couple of days, this is a nightmare for me

Anyone has their customer support contact number?
    The_Hoff's avatar
    322 from your phone.
  17. Magicman47's avatar
As soon as I’m able to port my number I’ll update on here
  18. tempt's avatar
After weeks of promoting them on their website, they are acting all too holy. Not a word of remorse. They did the same with shady energy providers and customers were left stranded and out of pocket.
  19. BenzBoy's avatar
How to order a free eSIM on their website? Can't find the option anywhere. Looking at swapping my physical Lyca SIM to eSIM.
    Chris_R23's avatar
Manage account then SIM management (edited)
  20. mutley1's avatar
apparently the issue has been resolved so you may get your signal back! not every is working so it may be a slow resolve.
    mky1's avatar
Managed to top up using a physical voucher earlier, so I can make calls.
PAC code request is still failing via SMS though. (edited)
  21. SpitTheDog's avatar
I called them but the couldn't reinstate my 89p 5Gb deal or give me a PAC code but I could have a 2.5Gb month contract for £5. I thanked the customer service agent and then put the phone down. I'll ring them in a few days for a PAC code again.

any Data only sim ? I need it for 70mai UP04 4g module to work with my a810 dash cam. So far cheapest I found is Smarty
  23. trebor's avatar
What is the EU Roaming allowance for this sim, can see its capped but not what the cap is?
  24. MgBossHogg's avatar
Great stuff. 90 seconds from clicking the link to getting up and running with esim. Finally the cheap NVMO's are embracing the 21st century. Was looking for a cheap EE backup sim. Perfect.
  25. minglukhan58's avatar
Can you go into a minus with Lyca or is it like a goodbag with Giffgaff where you pay for the bundle and can't run up charges?
    IzOn's avatar
No you can’t go into minus they just switch you over to PAYG if your payment fails
  26. chiller15's avatar
How far in advance can you order this SIM and then activate it with the same deal? I have about 6 weeks left on my Lebara SIM and would want to switch to this.

Fyi lyca is down today, can't make outbound phonecalls so we are moving back to a main provider
    MiloW's avatar
Thanks for this message, I thought it was just me. Couldn't find any info about the status.

My plan 6 month 89p plan didn't auto renew last night so I finally got through to customer service using option 2 on another phone and was told that it's a global outage, including the web site. I was advised to call back in an hour. I hove no service or any way of resolving it.
    Nashy23's avatar
I'm on the same boat. 89p didn't get renewed due to their outage and now i cannot make any calls. Just keeps saying i have insufficient credit. I completed 2 months of the deal. Now i don't know what's going to happen.

Can I just port out to another provider in this state? Or do i need to top up minimum £5 and then port out to different network?

I rang their customer support. They told me that they have lost access to view any customer data due to outage.

Not sure what to do now.
  30. Magicman47's avatar
Can anyone help me? I had a bundle with lyca thats just expired. It’s not letting me ring 322. When i try login to the online account it crashes. The online chat doesn’t work either.
    SpitTheDog's avatar
Global outage according to customer service. My plan didn't auto renew so I'm in the same boat as you. I think I'll go with the Lebara deal when I can port out.

Been offline for almost 24 hours now, no communication other than the copy paste response on twitter. I'll be looking to change ASAP honestly not worth the saving at this point.

  34. jimbo23's avatar
Haven't been able to make calls or go on the web for a week and trying to login online is just producing a bunch of errors.
  35. innocent's avatar
It's a MEGA disaster. I don't know when Lyca would throw the towel in!
  36. OhTheMajesty's avatar
As far as I can see, the only positive reason for the existence of Lyca is to provide price competition to Lebara et al and keep them on their toes. They are diabolical otherwise
    Onlydongles's avatar
But Lebara are not on their toes anymore, else they would have offered 6 monthly promo deals by now !
  37. Mehran_Khan0Ve's avatar
    This includes 5g right?
    Rob2210's avatar
I had a 5G Lyca sim and barely managed 4G. Just be wary before you cancel any other tariffs before going for this. Luckily I had a deal similar to this so only lost a couple of quid
  38. andybriggs03's avatar
think m ost people i no are foreign and loads of people use that network
  39. photomorgana's avatar
Their website seems to be down.
    desi_lad's avatar
yes, they are. Always down since move to EE.
  40. MooBie's avatar
They do Esims so if you want to ‘test’ the data etc you can add it alongside your regular sim, currently doing that with the 1.99 20gb deal. Compared to 3 in my area it’s been mostly the same just with some minor improvement in certain areas. (edited)
