Gets excited, then sees May half term is excluded. Should have known as you need a second mortgage now to fund half term travel or days out

Look at the sunsaver deals as a potential option. If you don't like the sun people will give you codes on eBay. Just got a set for Legoland for about £12 or so...

Are there rides suitable for 2 year olds?

No. Thorpe park is mainly for kids around 8 years and over. Your best bet will be Gullivers land.

Not a bad deal if you don't mind stopping in a shipping container for the night.

It lets me book 2 adults for £139, but won't let me book 2 adults plus a child 1 year old. It is the same room anyway. Very strange

Under 3s are free so just book 2 adults. Also it's not a room, it's a shipping container.

Stayed a couple of weeks back. We had fast track all day and damn well needed it. For a mid-week, it was packed.

The "hotel" is very snug and wasn't particularly pleasant in terms of comfort, but was clean and air con worked well so can't grumble.

Worth the £129 I paid for 2 of us. Breakfast was poor though.

A mile or so away is a restaurant "three Horseshoes". Excellent all round but got to book. Miles better than the onsite TP Vibes restaurant.

Might have been a school strike day as the times this has been the case, the park has been packed.

Would Thorpe park be worth the 3.5 hr drive when I’m only 1 hr away from Alton towers?

I stopped here a few weeks back with my daughter. We came down the Friday night and did the park on the Saturday. Bundled in with the accommodation was two hours fast pass - essentially you get a wrist band and just use it to go through the fast-pass queues between 10:00 and 12:00. Presumably it's the same here, but 10:00 till 11:00.

We found the staff weren't overly strict with times as we squeezed in one last fast pass ride at about 12:15 but I guess it depends who you get.

Accommodation for us was spot on. It's tiny, sure, but was clean and pleasant and perfectly located for the park the next day. The staff couldn't have been any more friendly too, they were great.

Fast pass came in handy, queues were pretty lengthy the next day but in our two hours we ticked off everything we wanted to go on multiple times, the remainder of the day was a much more leisurely affair, queuing for the odd ride, taking in the sights, etc.

Colossus was off (missing a huge chunk of track), unsure if it's back on yet, but all other rides were running fairly reliably all day.

In terms of the breakfast, a comment above says it's not up to much, maybe we're easy to please but we enjoyed it. Fairly typical buffet style breakfast, we got our full English which filled us up for the day.
