I have bought this laptop last time it was at this price. Please bear in mind that #1. The one-year warranty is with eBuyer starting from the day of purchase, not with "Microsoft." The product warranty on the PC information was shown as 5 days before expiring when I first bought it (I was worried in case it was refurbished, etc., but eBuyer assured me it wasn't). #2. It will take a few updates before the laptop asks to update Windows 11.

Overall a really good Laptop for taking on the go! (edited)

Must admit I'd not seen this machine before (didn't know the series existed) - fairly good review from about a year ago here:

Microsoft released a teardown/repair video here too (another BIG surprise):

This video shows someone opening the machine and upgrading the SSD to an NVMe 2230 512gig drive:

I must admit I'm a bit surprised by this thing, invariably it fits into nearly an ultrabook category but for the price point we've been seeing the Chuwi N100 based units which aren't *that* much smaller (perhaps 1-2" smaller screen and approx 200g lighter but seemingly much less power).

Both reports say the keyboard and catpad are good to use and that the screen and speakers were a real surprise. This looks like it might be a worthy satellite machine actually if it really hits its 13 hour battery targets; is there some elephant in the room with this series I'm not seeing?

Maybe one thing, your review vid is for the Go 2

Gen 10 processor. We are on Gen 13 now so it really is much older technology. The 16gb of ram may help but don't expect too much from it. Also the display resolution isn't the best as it cannot display full HD.

My god how did people cope when gen10 got released With your technical expertise on this subject can you please explain to everyone the differences between the gen10 and gen13 cpus and why people would see such a difference using them in every day tasks. Like for like cpu comparison obviously (edited)

My wife uses one of these for work after convincing her she doesn't need anything more powerful.

It's a lovely little machine. Bit sparse on ports but that's the way these days... ended up getting a USB C hub with power delivery so she doesn't need the power brick.

What's the best/cheapest option for getting MS Office nowadays, is it through a 365 sub or an Ebay/online code link of sorts?
    ivri's avatar
If you think you'll use the 1-6TB of cloud storage then a 365 subscription is great value. Otherwise the online links should work but I don't think they can be pulled.

No Bluetooth??? Processor is 4 generations old too

But the specs at this price are pretty good.

Shame no Full HD resolution which is the minimum we can expect nowadays really
    Masteryates's avatar
Yes that's a bit of a strange resolution isn't it? On the other hand, it might be nice to render Windows @ 100% and get rid of those jaggies on legacy dialog boxes.

Bought one of these for my daughter at uni the last time they were this price. Brilliant little machine.
  9. turbomonkey911's avatar
Perfect little laptop for anyone who is on the move and just needs the basics, as small and light. Daughter uses it for uni and so far no complaints . Don't expect a CAD and 3D rendering powerhouse, but for taking notes and general browsing and office app tasks, it's perfect.

And that’s exactly what this spec is aimed at which some replies on here seem to be completely missing. Price vs spec this is a fantastic deal.

Thanks OP, was hoping this would reduce again after the previous deal.

Does it come with MS Office does anyone know?
    sashforth's avatar
    No.

A quick click through to the deal would have told you that Microsoft 365 is sold separately.

this laptop or a Samsung tablet? Mainly for watching media- iptv etc?
    AshrafZeneca's avatar
I would recommend a Samsung Tablet, they are just better to watch Videos/TV

anyone got any thoughts on this vs surface pro 4 ? Got that second hand and it's been good for my son for a couple of years but now he's cracked the screen. Think it has an 8th gen i5 and 8gb of ram and he's been happy with it if occasionally slow on wifi

Not sure if it’s worth waiting for a Laptop Go 2 deal coming up? (edited)
