A lot of sarcastic replies in here - but I know plenty of people who have trouble boiling an egg.

This saves time in that you just put everything in and program it and it does everything, all you do is prepare the veg.

No extra chopping, no stirring or checking to see if it's cooked.

I've never actually made a soup, although in my slow cooker I have sometimes made a mush which could be called soup...

What!? This is a thing? If I bought this it would forevermore gather dust in a cupboard. Soup is so simple to make, minimal washing up plus I've always liked it chunky so rarely blend. whatever works for I suppose. does it chop the vegetables?

Thanks. My last one conked out but do like this gadget. Use almost daily.

I doubt soup makers will be selling as many in a few years, but time will tell. Everyone has a washing machine, and with good reason. For most people soup makers could well be a kitchen gadget that gets put in the cupboard after a while, never to see daylight again. I'm quite happy to be proved wrong, it's just my opinion

Yes, probably, just like the toastie makers and everything else we leave in our cupboards! . There are some benefits over making soup without one of these makers though, such as being able to leave it unattended, making large batches etc. Now, I'm off to find my Nutribullet..... I know it's somewhere in this cupboard!

How did anyone wash clothes before washing machines?

Must be a bit hit and miss, we’ve used about 15 in our machine and all worked perfectly, actually get a better flow rate compared to genuine pods. Were using them in a Latissima Touch machine.

Just doing my first load of dough in the new machine. The dough came out of the pan feeling really 'spongy' which is always a good sign that it will bake well in the oven.

Oh, and Aldi strong white flour is currently on offer at 69p per 1.5 kg bag. Not much of a saving on the 75p normal price but worth buying in some for stock if you're a big baker!

You also can buy replacement mixing pans for the Morphy Richards …You also can buy replacement mixing pans for the Morphy Richards breadmakers for similar money but when the entire machine only costs £43, it's not sensible to keep replacing just the pan. It's only when the spindle finally drops out the pan that you see how flimsy the securing collar is. It's about the width of a piece of wire. I'm surprised Morphy Richards haven't made the design more robust but maybe the idea is that they're purposely designed to fail so you have to buy another machine.

I've already bought a spare tin and paddles for my lidl one, they cost just over £13 delivered, a third the cost of a new machine, so I think it was well worth it.

The pan has lasted two years so far, and the spindle mounts looked a bit more substantial that the fastbake I had, but I reckon I'll be lucky if I get another year's use before one of the spindles starts leaking. What I really want is a bread maker with paddles that flip up into the lid, so no more leaky spindles or the holes in the loaf .

Mind you a whole baking tin with new paddles costs less for my lidl one.I'd suggest pouring a drop of vegetable oil in the pan around the spindle and giving the paddle a turn by hand (before inserting the tin into the machine) to try to lubricate the spindle and its plastic bush, before adding the other ingredients. I found it stopped my fastbake tin leaking water around the spindle when the bush got worn, it also stopped the dough getting in the bush and being baked in solid, seizing the spindle and requiring a long soak to free it.

Don't forget to register for your two year warranty as in my experience, the 'collar' that holds the paddle spindle in place will fail at about 18 months. Twice now I've claimed on the warranty and both times, Morphy Richards have been good enough to send me a new mixing pan.I've absolutely no doubt that this isn't quite as good as a Panasonic breadmaker but it's between a third to a half of the price. Easy decision to get this one instead.

The best way is to microwave up the amount of milk you want just below boiling, then stick it in a coffee percolator and pump it up and down through the milk. Got my iron today have to say its not bad at all. Just been through a load of ironing quite quickly. Overall feel is very plastic though and the cord storage is a bit meh . As if it was designed for another iron then just added to this one. There's no real storage for the iron to base pipe my old one had a clip that it fitted into so it was tidied away. Its noisier than my old one but I'm pleased with how long it took me compared to my old iron. Smelt a bit like a bad egg when I first turned it on so don't blame those sitting around you for letting one off if you get a similar smell when you first use it .

You can, but you can also get excellent ones for a lot less. I really don't know why you need 6.5 bars of pressure. You're not raising Tower Bridge with it. Sounds like pure marketing to me. However, the self-cleaning function does appear to have some substance to it (i.e a significant amount of extra engineering) and if it works I'd certainly pay for it.
