Can these only control Philips Hue bulbs or can they be set to control other brands through some other gateway?

*Edit: Ah, just saw dimav83's post. Was planning on setting home assistant using an old Pi device. Great stuff! Ordering now. Thanks (edited)

You will need a Zigbee controller for Pi. I have SONOFF ZBDongle E amzn.eu/d/d…lTy and quite happy with it.

Doubt it will be long, they are price matching B&Q marketplace seller Thames Distribution. They deliver probably quicker than Amazon, but it keeps vanishing from their site so I guess very low stock.

These are great switches and I recently bought 8 to replace my series 1 dimmers. But unfortunately the samotech switch surround that fits over your existing switches is not up to the quality I'm used to with the brand and the magnetic hold isn't strong enough.
Does anyone have any alternative suggestions on a better switch adapter?

I really like the quality of the IYOKI ones but they haven’t done one for the tap dial yet. I think I’ll email them asking.

Easy and expensive option - get Philips Hue light bulbs, hue bridge and required remotes. System will also work with other Zigbee lights, e.g. from IKEA or Lidl.

Cheaper option - pretty much the same, but with another hub, for example from IKEA.

Maximum flexibility option - Home Assistant as a smart home controller and pretty much any smart bulbs, switches, remotes.

Philips Hue system is built on open Zigbee standard, so is quite open.
Must admit that Hue app is quite good and easy to use. (edited)

I just received yesterday 2 that I got from previous deal at £34. Nice and very solid build, and convenient in use. So when I noticed this price drop - immediately ordered another 2.

Next step is to move lighting from Hue app to Zigbee2MQTT/ Home Assistant.

I paid £45 at launch and think it is worth the price. At £28 it's a bargain
