Does this sync to the tv display ?

You'll need the expensive Hue syncbox in order to do that and then you're set.

Just bought a bunch of hue products earlier this week.
Will claim a refund on the bridge and send this one back.

Thank you for saving me a weeks shopping

Can you do that if there are sold as a bundle?

I love my set. My TV is too small for the Hue light strip so I've got a set of light bars synced with my TV to get the ambilight style effect

How do these compare to the old battery operated Soundlights when syncing to music and also in terms of brightness/projection?

Phillips hue lights are overpriced. Better off using govee products that I've now migrated too. Dreamview syncing with all the lights in the living room is incredible.

Except with Govee you have that ridiculous light sensor thing hanging over the top of your TV
