    Jason Plato did a test on it (about 1 minute in) on Fifth Gear a few years ago on an old Corrado (petrol) and it improved the bhp, so should be the same with an oil burner i'd guess

    I'd just put some Super / Premium fuel every once on a while.
    will do the same job.probably safer for the engine too.

    Most car manufacturers state in their documentation or manuals that the use of these may invalidate warranties.
    It's an easy get out for a garage if you say you've tried one to help an ongoing problem.

    Exactly! It's also stated on the fuel lid to refrain from using any fuel additives. However, it made no difference to me on a focus mk3

    STP is the better stuff, slightly more expensive stuff but worked miracles on a 23 year old motorhome with an XUD diesel.

    Top Gear did a test on these several years ago and they said it made almost no difference at all, in sayin that when they're on a deal like this I buy them - they can't hurt at least I don't think they can

    Will this help with a stuck egr valve. Im useless at understanding mechanics

    It won't help. Your egr will need removing, rubbing off the carbon build up and deep cleaning with other more powerful chemicals. Or your other option is egr delete which will be more expensive to do but it's one time forever fix.

    I've used it for cleaning egr can say it is effective to keep system clean providing its not heavily clogged

    Been using these for a while every few months. I found they worked better on older cars, making them sound better and smoother. These are designed to remove build up on injectors and in fuel system so the cleaner (fuel system) / newer your car is then you won't notice any major change but will help keep the engine clean. Older cars the effect is more noticeable as it removes the gunk and will probably need to use it a few times. seafoam is also good but dearer (more of a 1 shot cleaner if used correctly) STP isn't bad either. Don't expect miracles but helps keep your car internals clean (helpful a month before mot for emissions)
