lm running an my s7e on Oreo at the moment and its great, but there no way l would downgrade my phone it just too much of a security risk, esp when l use the phone for banking and as alternative to a laptop when on holidays. I've even still still got my s4 running on stock but just use that as an mp3 player, but everytime the apps get an update it starts to eat into the storage and even it with a memory card installed it such a pain to have move them back each time it updates as they always unmount them selves from the men card. So what lm trying to say is in my opinion the s9 would be prudent choice for piece of mind as you will at least be protected with the latest major updates for the next 2 years, and all that on-board storage (128gb fast access)without having to buy a mem card, where the s7e l think Oreo is going to be it's last major update and security update.

Desi.Guy

I was talking about buying new (or close to new) s7 edge/s8 vs new s9 ..they boht be running with oreo at the moment and as far future then i dont see many people who keep phone for 3/4 years and even if you are running previous android version then it dont mean that you will be missing much and infact i have seen people on Xda who downgraded to nougat from oreo because they were getting more battery life

888eyeball

problem is how much longer will the s7e be supported, and thoes of us that have the s7e for a few years now the battery is starting to wear and its expensive to replace and no guarantees your s7e will be water tight again when they put it back together.

miri.kahn

For iphone 5 its only giving 150 pounds not £300 and not as it says .click buy me now and its offering only £150

Desi.Guy

Samsung galaxy did not improve much from S7 edge . Camera of s7/s7 edge is as excellent as S9 . S7 edge has more battery capacity than s8 and s9 plus though new snapdrago/Exynos is more power effcient than previous models. Previous models still offer water proofing, same design, battery capacity software, etc S7 and s8 are also getting Oreo so i dont see any reason for someone to upgrade unless they have plenty of money to waste and badly need stereo speaker of S( which are again nothing spectacular. Processor and RAM come to a stage where upgrade in it is just more numbers where you dont feel any differnce in real life betwene 3/4gb and 6GB RAM and between 820 and 845 Snapdragon If someoen is fond of Samsung then S7 edge is better value phone right now to buy

Can you trade in a locked phone or do I have to unlock it? Thinking about trading in my S5 for this

Zosia

I guess Samsung will lose, I just won't upgrade as without part exchange, it's not worth consideration. I doubt they will sell onwards these old phones anyway, so such strict rules are not helping them.

bluntmachetti

still shows up as £639 for me despite the discount for training in an iPhone 5s for £99.25. does the price get adjusted after they've confirmed delivery of the trade-in?

lianghe1984

Flash stock is easy but u need to make sure that Knox is valid though

Zosia

Mine has no damage but it's rooted. New stock flash would probably solve that. I've been looking for weeks at Samsung offer but can't decide. S4 still works fine and I got new original baterry couple of months ago.

Did indoor exercises at the gym and the watch gave real poor readings compared to the machines (treadmill read I did 336 calories burned while the watch recorded me at 66 calories). Was the same for rowing machine and stationary bike. Now it's up for sale as it seems more hassle than good sadly.

Sad. I read this as FTL travel.

jamie015

It is Samsung Pay to be fair, you wouldn't expect it to work on other phones (though Pay Mini exists outside of the UK). It's highly unlikely the 65k threshold will be reached - the last Samsung Pay promo for registering a MasterCard had a 5,000 people redemption limit and that was never reached since most people just use Google Pay

barnehurst

so even if you have one of the right mastercards its useless without a samsung phone? and doesnt work after 65k paid out = waste of time

jamie015

No, don't believe so. You could try adding it to the app and it will tell you if the card is supported but I doubt it

It depends 4G is tricky and based on where you get it from different countries use different spectrums as a example Three UK uses 800Mhz and 1800Mhz LTE - then there's different bands it's quite confusing. But 3G should be universal to a degree (with exceptions).

Robert_Paulson

It's actually good business practice to figure out how much people will pay for a product and then charge that amount, why would any business do anything different? It'd be pretty stupid to work out what people would be willing to pay for a product and then charge less, as you'd technically be losing some of your profit margin and then have less money to maintain the business, expand the product portfolio, improve the products/service offered. Having worked in the retail trade offering a large number of products from various manufacturers around the world, I have been educated on the costs involved that can make a difference to the price of a product sold in one country compared to another. There are many factors, that haven't even been mentioned or discussed, as most people will simply see what they want regardless of the reality. If less people buy a product due to the price, the manufacturer or distributor will import less numbers, which is likely to raise the price of a product rather than reduce it. So it's not actually as simple as some people think or suggest.

carefulbuyer

Actually it's simpler than that, manufacturers figure out much people will pay and that's what they charge. British people are generally mugs and will pay much more than the rest of the world then they get mugged for vat as well. If you stop paying these stupid prices then they will charge less, simple.

carefulbuyer
