I had this on PS4 and having completed all of season 3 only had 45% of trophies. So this may suffer same issue with gamerscore?

yomanation

That doesn't quite make sense... It's a port on a new console, and it has all the DLC plus new content in the cart, of course it's going to be more expensive than £20 for the base game digitally on the completely irrelevant console that is the Wii U. Nintendo no longer supports the Wii U, so they might close down the entire eShop at any time if they wanted to. The profit they make off of it is pocket change for a company of their size. Likely not even worth the maintenance costs. The only reason they still haven't shut down the entire Wii U eShop is to appease people that have still not moved over to Switch. For that reason I find it funny when people say that they don't care about fans, which, if true, they would have shut down shop the moment Switch launched. People had 7 entire years to buy the game on the Wii U if they really wanted to. Do you think they are going to buy a Wii U and/or the game now, to avoid paying £40 on Switch for a superior version, especially when Wii U is no longer sold at retail and can basically only be bought second hand? There is a much simpler explanation on why Nintendo did this. They don't want people to be confused when searching for Pikmin 3 online. The game has been out for years, this means lots of links online lead to the official page of the game on Wii U, which includes the ability to purchase the game. This will save Nintendo some headache with customers buying the wrong version accidentally and requesting replacement or refund, and realistically it doesn't really affect any people negatively because as I said petty much nobody is going to buy this game on Wii U in 2020. Even if they really want it they can still buy a physical copy or a leftover code from some retailer, Nintendo themselves not selling it is hardly an issue. I still think it's perhaps an unnecessary bad look because it makes people think it's a scummy move, however since they are doing it, and they know a lot more than me and you about how to run a business, I am going to assume they know what they are doing, and in reality since nobody is affected by this it won't be remembered after a couple days.

Considering no sites currently have competitive prices and this is the cheapest it can be found for, I'm tempted to place a pre order. I can always cancel if anywhere decides to be cheaper Thanks OP, I wish the heat I was giving you did sumn though :(

Quick heads up, they're remastering Commandos 2 and releasing it with Praetorians later this year ;)

Profgunnington

I loved the original few games of the 90s and 00s, and the Commandos series to boot. Anybody who likes the more chilled out, single player games and likes dipping their toe into strategy games should give this a try! Plus, it's wild west theme, so you can pretend you're in Westworld. That said, I feel the genre hasn't aged hugely well. I bought it day one and haven't played it nearly as much as I thought it would. Spamming the save key was pretty much the norm on PC back in the day, but playing it on the PS4 doesn't have quite the same feel. Saving before and after I make every successful attack or reloading every time an idea fails (and you'll do that a lot) doesn't feel quite as fluid as on PC. It's definitely REALLY FAST, don't let that put you off, but it's not almost instant like on PC. In short, I knew I should have waited and bought this on PC (I was staying somewhere else at the time, away from the home PC) as I think it'll be a much better experience on that platform.

turbobuddah

Imagine because noone really knows it exists outaide of PC players, shame really because they were pretty decent games

This has gone down quick. I'll probably wait for the inevitable PS Plus or Now appearance.

"A two part DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield – an expansion pass full of extra content" I think it's sounds pretty clear the pass gives you two DLCs. and not the first DLC is split in two, as that's not mentioned anywhere.

I know it says “two part” and “explore two brand new regions” etc but had no idea if this meant just the first one is two part if you get me. Sorry for ruining your day by asking (embarrassed)

That was the push that got me to subscribe. Unless you're a day-one FIFA type person, there's not really any need to buy EA games anymore. If you're liable to buy games early then sit on them for months while they rapidly lose value (like me) then EA Access @£20 a year is actually a money saving device. I just wait for them to drop onto Access.

Thanks for this. Son just discovered Crysis and wanted to pay £4 for 1 month :|

JustaSingh

depends on what you like to play. Fifa, Fight night, mass effect and battlefield more than enough for the casual gamer (skate 3 for the kids keeps them amused) . Game Pass has this annoying habit of 'retiring' games, which means you can't play them anymore unless you buy them (had this with Just Cause 3&4, GTA, Lego Worlds, which peeved off the kids).

daniellndn

Thanks. That’s what I thought. I’m guessing the downside would be losing any saved game progress. Would be nice to know for sure.

DCFC79

As far as I know it's tied to the account but I've never tried it myself, it would restrict alot of people who would buy a refurb console to find out they can't take advantage of the £1 new customer pass.

DCFC79

I do prefer Gamepass, a wider selection of games.

I really enjoyed The Surge but the DLC isn't cheap even in the recent Steam sale. That being said, the premium edition of The Surge 2 for £19.85 looks good although I can't remember how much that was in the Steam sale (fierce) Edit: Just looked it up and it was £22.49, so this is a good deal too (y)
