Avoid at all costs, just Google the battery drain issues this model is having .

Had these for 18 months and get about 5-6 hours of listening easily. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

I own these and they sound fantastic. They aren't a great fit in most ears so I bought some sonicfoam tips.

I paid twice this and still think they're worth what I paid for them

What's the durability like on the sonicfoams. I got my xm4 in April 23 and one of the ear tips tore apart in 6 months. I contacted them and got a replacement (medium tips pair not a 3 x pairs) , now the other ear tip tore so I anticipate they will not last me long

    Better with Samsung

seems like a decent price... any experiences with sony outlet? don't fancy receiving a pair of someone elses ear wax
    nonameduser's avatar
I've used them before and they came like new. Would use again.

Be very careful of these refurbishment ones. The batteries fail pretty quickly and it's a known issue. How refurbished are these? I doubt for £79 they've done a cell swap
    kalyar's avatar
Hopefully they have changed the batteries. Otherwise they are going back to Sony. 30 days money back guarantee.

Fab deal op. Wish I had a unidays account for voucher

Just tried and didn't get an additional discount - you aren't missing out!

Good pair of headphones, I’ve had them for a couple of years now and love the sound. I find them comfortable and use the sonic foam tips as memory foam does disintegrate when over time. For this price, they are a steal
  9. GlentoranMark's avatar
These are my current earphones. I bought them because of the hype but in all honesty the £40 (now broken) Tozo NC2's I own are as good and better at ANC. The only thing I really like about these is the app and the constant updates.

For context, I'm in my 50s, only listen to Podcasts and Audiobooks but need to change quickly from ANC to passthrough. The controls on these are marginally better than the NC2's. BTW, I also own NC9's which are very similar spec to the NC2's but nowhere near as good. Tozo will be my next pair but I'll take out insurance on them as I didn't get a full year of hard use.

Do you get charging case and ear buds included does anybody know please?
    FAB89's avatar
    Author
Yes includes the charging case and buds
  11. legend86's avatar
Will these come with the proper box and accessories etc?

Would you say these are better than the bose qc Earbuds 2? (edited)

Says on website they may not come in the original packaging
  12. legend86's avatar
I've just had a look at Amazon and pretty much all reviews over the last 3 months are talking about battery drain. Looks like they will last a year and then potentially die:( I was tempted to.
    rufioh's avatar
I’d hope that as a refurb they’ll have new batteries. Then as long as they’re on the latest firmware they should be fine, as it was supposedly a dodgy firmware that caused the battery issues. That’s not to guarantee Sony won’t mess up again of course
  13. Simplyalif's avatar
I wouldn't buy, I lost my receipt for my xm4 and sony wouldn't acknowledge there was a battery issue and they are known to discharge at different rates after a while.... I just can't support sony no more
    spinach_pie's avatar
You could have bought them second hand, in their defence
  14. CorpJones's avatar
Can anyone recommend any decent ANC buds which don't create a seal in your ear with the rubber tips?
    purpl3kitty's avatar
That seal is why the anc works really. Without that seal (or a pair of over ear headphones) you will not get the isolation needed for really good anc. Anything you do get will be mediocre at best because sound will be leaking in around the bud. (edited)

Ears may well be a best-case scenario. Lot of strange folk about...
  16. legend86's avatar
Has anyone received theirs yet? What did they come with etc?
    goody's avatar
Just got mine so far so good ..all new tips used so whoever made comment about earwax ignore ...will give it a test run later today

Earbuds look mint to me so we will see (edited)
  17. legend86's avatar
Just found this on Sonys website. So, it sounds like grade A may have some minor cosmetic damage.

I really had to inspect mine to find it, though.

I got these and to confirm. They are TERRIBLE for phone calls. I don't mean not very good. I mean people shouting "what?" at everything you say.
  19. Nazlondon's avatar
    Are they wax free?
    vesdekis's avatar
Bit of wax helps them slide in the ear easier...
  20. Smm0's avatar
Just got the 5s and my god they suck. How can they charge so much? The ear tips are beyond awful too.

Ah well.. hope these 4s are better! Great price.
    Wooj's avatar
I agree, with overpricing. I've got the XM3s, they don't have a snug fit, noise cancelling is so-so, they can't be used outside due to wind noise from the mics. I thankfully don't have the battery drain issues, yet. Not worth RRP, given all these issues.
  21. stratplayer2001's avatar
ive got the XM3's and think they sound great, i've pulled the trigger on these bad boys. Too good a deal to not try.
    bryn.glennie's avatar
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.. my upgrade from 3s to these was well worth it and I paid quite a bit more.
  22. 8Mile's avatar
Anyone having issues with battery drain in general should look into changing the batteries yourself, unclip the casing and replace the battery, it's not hard and there are a few videos which show in detail how to do this on YouTube.

Anyone complaining about the ear tips, you can find hundreds of variations out there in various materials.

If you get any in-ear buds like these and are happy straight off the bat then you're lucky.

Lots of people say how they are not great outdoors for calls but maybe they are not marketed for you and likely over-ear headphones would be better suited.

I'm likely in the minority but I use them when traveling on long distance coaches and they are perfect for this, the block out almost all noise.

Batteries for XM models can be found on fleabay for under £15 each, yes that's almost £30 but peace of mind having new batteries is better than multiple orders of refurbs which may or may not have used batteries inside.
    dinesh1's avatar
    WoW,
You can Self replace the XM4 batteries at home?
I thought that would be so hard to accomplish.
  23. Jimmy.T's avatar
I bought a spare Melomania 1+ refurbed recently on e-bay for £59 95. They're still some available here. For me, there's not been better. Battery lasts forever. Way better than the Sonys, which just do not last well in terms of battery charge. That said, if you only want Sony, this is cheap. (edited)
    rufioh's avatar
Do you not miss having noise cancellation?
The battery on the WF-XM4s is great (particularly with DSEE off).
  24. Icecube's avatar
    White still avaiable at £79
  25. Muryu13's avatar
They’re available again if anyone is still looking
  26. Lakshitha's avatar
Got mine today looks brand new with all packaging and leaflets.Had to reset mine since it didn’t connect and updated the firmware to 2.0.1.The memory foam tips are pretty rubbish changed them to silicone tips blocked all noise which the ANC is very effective. The sound on these are very well balanced and sounds great with really good bass.(y) worth every penny
    goody's avatar
They do sound good for sure for the price they are a bargain
  27. hatot's avatar
We need an extra discount code to jump in 😁
  28. bryn.glennie's avatar
I love mine but they are a bit bulky in the ear. Superb sound though and this is a cracking price
  29. HUKD123's avatar
Get the Sony Linkbuds S. Not only better value than the XM4/XM5s but also better in most aspects. Just a little less loud
but a way better fit for me, and I prefer silicone to foam longterm
  30. tianuk3's avatar
these are fantastic. what a great price
  31. toomanylogins's avatar
Wow. What a price! I got some a while back for £100 in an Amazon warehouse deal. I love mine. I've had no battery issues. The tips could be better, I may look at some foam ones at some point. However, when you get a good seal these sound amazing and the noise cancelling is fantastic.
  32. stratplayer2001's avatar
i ordered them, but never noticed if there was any kind of warranty. Hope there is something,
  33. buddn07's avatar
    Refurbed earphones... not for me.

Good price though if you're fine with it.
  34. siumatfung's avatar
Seems to have been taken off the website now sadly

Nvm signed in now and I see it (edited)
    vornstar13's avatar
Surely refurbed by Sony is better than the so called refurbs from random sellers on Amazon and eBay though?
  35. rufioh's avatar
Thanks, bought a pair as backup given the WF-XM5s don’t fit my ears.

Does this have dual connectivity option (i.e. it can connect to two devices simultaneously & switch automatically when one of the devices trigger).
  39. Aaliyah_H's avatar
I bought these on amazon refurbished, they lasted a good 6 months as a daily. Then shortly the left ones battery packed up. Sent it to sony, when i got it back the right one died, you would think they would replace both but didnt. They didnt even give me new buds. I would stay away from sonys repair centres and the fact that the update kills them further, which i couldnt do because they both were never working after i received them back. I got afull refund from amazon, though, and called it a day! They sound fantastic, but im sceptical of purchasing them again (edited)
  40. ahmisterbond's avatar
Anyone got a view on call quality outside? I only have time to speak to people when I'm walking the dog. I'm currently using nothing 2 which are good. But the ANC isn't exactly great.
