About this deal

My husband has this bike for his commute. A great bike, cruiser style and quite long, he loves it.
The lights are bright and come on automatically, fitted mudguards & basket for lots storage etc. the basket doesn’t move when you turn which is a bit odd to start with but better for stability when riding.
A great bike for the money.

In case anyone is wondering - "Our 12 stores can be found in London, Surrey and Sussex."

Tiny battery capacity, and only 300 charge cycles, no thanks.

It wouldn't bother me, it's an urban commuter. My Turbo Levo in Eco will do 60km with a 500wh battery and that's dragging around soft compound 2.6" mud tyres weighing nearly 2kg each.

Great price compared to other retailers. Not sure how their battery warranty compares to other ebike manufacturers but 2 years or 300 cycles is pretty poor on what is probably the most expensive part of an ebike. Think I'd be scrapping it at that point if I couldn't get an independent battery refurbisher to sort it.

160Wh range extender? What a waste of time, I dread to think how much they charge for this tiny capacity range extender too.

This would have been a much better ebike if configured with a front hub motor, this would have taken huge amounts of wear off the hub gears and allowed more budget for a reasonable size battery, it would have increased range, reliability, performance and been far less of a throwaway product. Mid-drives are great on e-mountain bikes with low gearing but a very low power mid-drive motor with a small battery and high gearing achieves nothing really. It seems an un-necessary product hence the low sales and huge reductions in price to clear stock.

These are very low power ebikes, there is 35Nm of torque but the lack of low gearing and power loss through the chain plus losses in the hub gears means Even in the 1:1 direct drive low gear of the hub gears you are looking around 23Nm assistance much less than many cheap hub motor ebikes. So bear this in mind it is light assistance. It will also be expensive to repair if it develops a fault out of warranty.

These were £1100 and change on Evans a few months ago. The Como 5.0 (belt drive) was briefly at £1200.

It's a beautiful machine, but very underpowered, there's a video of a lady absolutely struggling to ride this thing up a mild hill. She even had to stand up whilst pedalling.

Remember the 'SL' stands for super light. It's a bike built to be light, not powerful.

Also, proprietary parts: battery, motor and what have you. Meaning it will be expensive to maintain once out of warranty. (edited)

My husband rides it no bother at all in eco up the hills, it depends how fit you are. All quality bikes cost a reasonable amount to repair, it helps if you can repair a few bits yourself, loads of video on YouTube. I recently fitted a SRAM Eagle axs upgrade kit to my bike myself with a few pointers from my husband. I really enjoyed it too (edited)
