All Steam Decks (both LCD and OLED) are powerful, portable, PC gaming devices made for comfort and a console-like experience.

Portability meets power
We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.

Your Steam Library, anywhere
Once you've logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You'll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you're looking for specific sorts of experiences.

Control with comfort
The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you're using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes.

Console-like experience
Steam Deck has a user-friendly interface specifically designed for its gamepad controls. Its software and operating system are tailored for Steam Deck, making it the easiest way to get into PC gaming.

Steam Deck Certified Refurbished FAQ

What’s the difference between a certified refurbished unit and a new unit?
Certified Refurbished units are returned customer units that have been thoroughly cleaned and tested following the same testing process used for new units. There are no differences in technical or functional specifications between refurbished and new units, but there may be minor cosmetic defects.

Is there a warranty?
Yes. The same warranty you receive with a new unit is provided with each Certified Refurbished unit. If you have an issue with your unit and that issue cannot be resolved it will be replaced with another Certified Refurbished unit.

What are “minor cosmetic defects”?
We consider minor cosmetic defects to be small blemishes or scratches (on the plastic casing, not the screen) generally caused from normal handling of the unit.

How does support work for these units?
As a customer with a Certified Refurbished unit, you will receive the exact same customer support experience through our support teams as you would with a new unit.

I recently got an OLED model. I'm so impressed at what it's capable of! Been playing Resident Evil 2 Remake at basically max. settings 800p, FSR set to ultra quality, and getting 80-90fps. Remarkable. Also super comfortable (but for some wrist ache after a couple of hours) and getting about 3h play time with this demanding game at such high settings and brightness (including HDR). Struggling to get emulation working properly though, even with EmuDeck.
    IHateCaptchaCodes's avatar
Your issues might be down to needing bios files for the emulation... As they're proprietary, they are not included in Emudeck to prevent copyright claims or takedowns. R/Roms on reddit has some useful threads that could help you out.

Personally I found this guide useful in getting the configurations sorted myself, as I had issues with file names and sorting (also it's regularly updated despite the title!) - retrogamecorps.com/202…de/

    Waiting for refurb oled

    You might get mine.
My OLED came with a broken left analogue out the box, obviously not tested before it was sent.
Valve support are awful to deal with. Messages only (no phone or live chat) and they take at least 48 hours to reply to each message you send.

get the rog ally instead it’s much better
    plewis00's avatar
I have both and it’s not. The Ally is another ASUS beta-tested product where they’ve crammed loads of hardware into a small space then not bothered to see how it all works - you know about the SD slot by now and the CPU is very fast but will last an hour if you use all that power. The Steam Deck is less powerful but far better optimised and more comfortable too.

The Ally is my biggest remorse purchase this year.

waiting for the 64gb version if it ever comes back in stock
    Red_5's avatar
That's been sold for a few pounds less and it doesn't have the upgraded screen. This is the better deal

hows this hot? brand new little bit more lol... second hand band wagon around here is insane!
    MadonnaProject's avatar
How much more? I thought brand new was £389?

I have a £2000+ PC and all I use is my deck hahaha, insanely addictive (edited)
    yuri9's avatar
Give that PC to me and I'll put it to good use
  8. OllieFTH's avatar
My problem with the deck was the weight of it and AAA game anxiety due to the performance. I don’t want to have to worry if something will run great or not. Also it’s restricted to only Steam games which is a bummer if you have game pass or want to play online stuff like Destiny 2.

I prefer the Ally but if I was going back to the deck I’d pay the extra for the OLED for sure!
    crack_shot's avatar
    i mean yeah and no
high end AAA games are hit-and-miss
but there's almost a fun aspect of tweaking a game and squeezing every ounce of performance out of it

not restricted to steam only games or steam really but its the easiest way to play games on it

also has the best emulation scene. really solid. super easy. amazing community support

paying extra for an OLED- its definitely a better device- but 200 better? that's a question for the buyer. I probably will buy an OLED eventually and have both - the OLED screen is amazing

but, you can buy a very capable IPS monitor for that difference in price. and the steam deck is a very performant high FPS machine for older games- or just a PC linux box

that's the thing about these mini PCs, everyone can have a different use case
  9. Itsmehmood's avatar
Is this better than the nintendo switch
    James_TxZj's avatar
No. It's big and hot and loud. It's great if you like navigating menus and adjusting settings.
  10. AlexPatrick's avatar
Has anyone tried this with MMORPGs such as Guild Wars 2
    Swarfega's avatar
It works but I can't get used to the controls myself. I can just about log in and clear my home instance. I'm old though so maybe others find it easier, plus I've only had the deck a week. It's definitely playable though.
  11. MadonnaProject's avatar
I've had around £90+ steam walet for almost 10 years, I was never going to use it on digital goods. Why not go for this? Paid using paypal. Had £20 off on paypal also so all in all got the 512GB steam deck for £204 roughly. Better than buying it off some fool on FB marketplace.
    Josh99's avatar
Sold mine on marketplace for £300, I sell alot of used tech (once I upgrade)

Personally I'd never buy used myself lol unless it's refurbished from the manufacturer themselves.

The refurbished steam decks are basically brand new , great price
  12. Smm0's avatar
Hmm.. hard purchase when the newer version is much nicer. Methinks a lesser price would be more appropriate.
    clavier3895's avatar
u mean the newer version that's nearly double the price?
  13. iiibdiii's avatar
I'm very tempted but wrong month to spend on yourself
    2StepSteve's avatar
That's why I bought the OLED last month

  17. DJSyko's avatar
I sold mine a week before the OLED was announced for £500 😬
  18. ultraal2003's avatar
I purchased the 64gb version when it was on sale for £309 a few months back and then the OLED version came out. I did upgrade mine to 2tb but the way I see it, it's costs 50% more, it's definitely worth it if you use it all the time, but for most of us I think the base model will be fine for years to come.

Have not been keeping up with the steam deck at all apart from cancelling my original launch £4 deposit. So there is a new model with OLED now? I thought it was OLED all along...i can see why people would wait for OLED though
    reddragon105's avatar
No, original model isn't OLED; the OLED version just came out last month. The cheapest one (256GB) is still LCD but the 512GB is OLED and the 1TB is OLED with anti-glare.
  23. plewis00's avatar
Great price - it's such a well-thought out product as well in software and hardware. The little things like coming with a decent carry case make it such a good package.

Personally would not buy the LCD now. I've got two and an oled the oled is worth it. M

Thank god I managed to sell my 64gb version for 330£ with upgraded to 512gb ssd that the OLED version come with. 🙌
  31. Maverick77's avatar
Off subject but I saw an atari lynx for sale in CEX earlier today. Steam deck it roughly the same size. Just made me realise how far things have come in the last 20 or so years. (edited)
    K1darklord_'s avatar
Sadly it’s 30+ years…… but yes technology and to an extent (especially PCs) affordability have come a long way in that time.
  32. Rik_Powell's avatar
Honestly though having sold my OG SD and got the OLED, it's really worth the extra £150 for the OLED version - screen is amazing, battery is insane (6+ hours on indie games) and it's lighter and a bit faster. Well worth the extra
    ketsunoanna's avatar
Yes my daughter harassed me into paying the extra for the old for her birthday present. She's happy, me, not so much
  33. TheBigLwinski's avatar
Great price, managed to get a brand new lcd 64gb for £276 and then used the difference to upgrade to a 1TB SSD. The 256 and 512 models don’t really make sense if you’re getting them just for the storage, I’ve got 2 games on my steamdeck which use about 350GB combined…

I really got to stop looking at this site I'm now 319 out of pocket

Pretty sure the Deck can't handle 100w so that speed would be redundant
  37. Jaime_VanHunskerken's avatar
Between this, the deck OLED, and the ROG Ally I can't decide what to buy
    Yoshi123's avatar
I purchased OLED around month ago and it is brilliant, love to play my ps5 games on it
  38. CaptainCheapestcheap's avatar
Just sold mine a few days ago for £300. Glad I did it before this offer cause this probably has a warranty.
  39. sixfingers's avatar
What's the likelihood of the smaller capacity SD refurbished coming back into stock?
    therishdizzle's avatar
This is the second time that only the 512GB version has been available as a refurb. I was waiting for a 64GB one last time about a month ago and again only the 512GB version was available.
  40. Itssocheap's avatar
I recently bought the OLED (new not a refurb). Delivery took a while despite what it said on their website. Took 2 weeks to arrive. Be wary if you want one before Xmas.
    Limmy's avatar
They come from the Netherlands. Took mine around 5 days when ordering late on launch day.
