Just set up a family subscription for under £2 a month. TechFiend09/09/2020 17:06
Doesn't anyone just use Vanced? Or is that not allowed as a suggestion?
Why do people always assume everyone has an android phone so they can use vanced ?- If this is new to you, also do it with Netflix, Deezer etc. Save £££££s!
- The price difference is shocking.
It's a great deal but Google's greed is beyond compare - Fk youtube and they ads I feel great after using this

How do we set up the family plan before going to YouTube?
support.google.com/fam…852CS7609/09/2020 15:36
Nice... Have you done this for Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV etc?
This method only works on Youtube because Google haven't bothered to fix it. You could apprently do it on Spotify a few years ago until they changed their signup process and made sure that you could only use a payment card registered in the country you're trying to sign up from.yoyo5909/09/2020 15:38

It won't matter where you sign up from as far as them "catching on" goes. The amount of people doing this is very likely just a tiny drop in the ocean for Google and the revenue they're making from YouTube otherwise they'd have fixed it already. They'll probably fix it one day for sure, but hopefully it won't be for a while yet.ceanth09/09/2020 15:44

Yes. It’s not as straightforward as this as you have to have an existing account with an existing payment method already active but it can be sonejohnnysorrow09/09/2020 17:20

Those who know how to do it they can do it but personally if we all want this to go on for years then it needs to go quietly...
They. Know.- Yep. I’ve been laying with Revolut for last couple years but now it won’t accept my card details referring to something about bank of India…
I will report back if I work out a fixHad the same email but it also says to buy something with the card then it will be activated.
I might be wrong - thanks guys.
Had an indian account running for over a year. Closed my nationwide account in a switch bonus jobbie and could not renew the indian with either revolut or my new halifax card.
Took advice from here and cancelled the indian membership, then loaded up turkey vpn and paid for an annual (13£) turkey account. Sorted! Cheers lads£13 annual account? Individual? AHM3D09/09/2020 19:49

There's a risk with anything you do online I suppose, but it's unlikely they'll ban you from GMail.
As I said back up the thread, it's inevitable that they'll close the loophole one day but if it was that much of a major concern for them over lost revenue then they'd have closed it already, and probably closed it a long time ago.Stephen_Barraclough12/11/2020 13:06

Nope, just once to pay then you can come off the vpn and use YouTube as usual.- Has anyone had issues with paying for this as of late? I just got an email from Youtube saying they couldn't process today's payment for Premium Family... Got the funds, no issue with the card and it has taken it fine for months.Just received an email... we will be increasing your Premium family plan price from ARS 179.00/month to ARS 699.00/month
- My payment has been declined on revolut something to do with bank of India? , anyhow when you change to Argentina or whatever the cheapest country at the minute is do I need to setup a completely new gmail account etc or just update payment info etc to Argentina address, also can anyone recommend a decent vpn the free or cheap as I only need it for this one thing lolI had to change recently due to revolut issue. Kept same account with same family members but had to end subscription in India and move to Argentina (prices are about to rocket in Argentina though so do some research as to which is cheapest country). How to use it. Can u plz do a step by step instruction. Thanks.
The simplest way is doing it via a desktop. Using Chrome, get a free VPN add-on like Hola but don't start it yet.
If you want a subscription for a single person, go to YouTube and then start your VPN. Set it to India and click on "Get Premium".
Google for "Fake Indian Address Generator" and just cut and paste the relevant data into the relevant fields.
Enter your card details. Click "Pay" and you're good to go.
If you're setting up a family plan, make sure that's set up BEFORE you go to YouTube and BEFORE you start your VPN.
When you click "Get Premium" it'll automatically detect your family plan so you can invite family members to share your Premium easily enough. Just follow the same procedure for entering account details and pay. (edited)matrich161009/09/2020 14:41

I've had this since last year and the only time I ever see any indian music is if I look at the chart listings or specific playlists.
Other than that I don't see any at all, but i'm pretty pro-active with the thumbs up/down buttons and creating my own playlists as well. My "Discover" and "New Release" playlists never recommend anything by indian artists.- Welcome to the website
This deal pops up every now and again but it's always good to re-post it to remind people it's still available. It's about £2 quid a month if you want to go with the family plan as well. matrich161009/09/2020 14:41

Vanced on Android
Didn't realise Vanced gave you Google music- I have just signed up using Hola VPN extension on chrome. Followed the instructions of another member. I used my existing YouTube account. Once you're logged into your account start the VPN. Go into your account settings and click on paid membership. If you ever have had a trial in the past it would prompt you to renew at £11.99/Month. You want to ignore this and scroll down a little. You would see Indian payment plans for Individual, Family and Students. YouTube recognises you being in India.
Select the desired plan which takes you to another page. Gives you four payment plans; you can pay upfront for 1, 3 and 6 months. Then you have the 4th option of monthly recurring subscription. In my case it was individual @ 129 Rupees per month(£1.37). Select the relevant option and it takes you on the payment page. Put in your card details, for address it only asked me for the state in India. I selected Delhi, you can pick whichever one you like from the drop down menu. Hit subscribe/pay and bingo!!
It took me less than 2 minutes to do the whole thing. If you're thinking its bit of a faff don't worry its very easy and straight forward.
Thank you OP for sharing this. Shure22/10/2020 22:47

Setting up a YT family account was harder than I thought. Even after creating a UK payment profile on my Indian account, I could not connect any of my UK accounts to the family, VPN or not. I even tried adding an Indian payment profile to my UK account, still wouldn't let me because I wasn't in the same country.
Here is what finally worked for me, with the added bonus of requiring no change whatsoever to the existing UK accounts.
There is a key step (changing country in play store) which requires an android phone. I don't know how to make it work with only an iPhone or a PC. After setup, you can use any type of phone.
- Connect to an Indian VPN (I used NordVPN)
- Go to gmail.com and create a new Indian account, using a random Indian billing address. You need to enter a real phone number as you will receive a code by SMS. I used my UK phone number without issues. Pick a valid postal code here: indiapost.gov.in/vas…spx
- Register for a YT premium membership at youtube.com/pai…ips using a fee-free card if possible (I used my Revolut card). IMPORTANT: DO NOT create a family yet!!!! This is the KEY!!! Do not set up any sort of sharing! (If you did create a family, you can just delete it. Don't mess up again as you can only change family once a year)
- Disconnect from the Indian VPN. You have now officially moved to the UK. Welcome.
Following your relocation for personal reasons, you need a UK payment profile for your Indian account!
- Go to manage your account / payment details and create a new UK-based payment profile. pay.google.com/gp/…ing
Note: this is different than adding a UK card or a UK address. You need to go in the right-most tab that says "Settings" which lists your "payment profile for Google Play". Try to edit your country and you will be prompted to create a new profile for the new country.
- This is the step missing from other guides: you need that UK profile to be set up for the Google Play Store. For this, you need the google play store app(the browser/desktop interface does not allow you to change country for some reason). Go to your account settings and under "country & profile" and you will see your 2 profiles. Select the UK one. Note: You can only change country once a year.
What if you do not see 2 profiles? Make sure: 1. you are in the UK (i.e. not on the VPN) 2. not part of any family (confirm at families.google.com/ and if needed, delete the family.) 3. you did create a UK profile (confirm at pay.google.com/gp/…ing).
- Once your google play profile is set to the UK, you can start sharing. Start your family at families.google.com. Invite any UK account. It will just work. No need for a VPN since this is a British family. Your YT membership is still charged to your Indian payment profile but shared with your British family
Hope this helps some people! Please upvote if it did, to help people find this post.zuggy09/09/2020 15:08

They're making money of any data you send them, so I'd advise going living in the woods with no electronics- I've had premium for over a year now set up with Indian VPN and Revolut and haven't had a single problem. You don't get any Indian suggestions on Youtube, just a few on the Music app but they stop if you thumbs down.

Create your family plan under your existing google ID and you'll be the "Manager" of the family. You can then invite up to six people to join your family and share access to all of your apps and services.
It's at that point, and that point only, do you go to YouTube. Start your VPN at that point and then choose "Upgrade to Premium" (or whatever it says)TechFiend09/09/2020 17:43

It's not just you - loads of people do it. Writing "Just use Vanced" (or words to that effect) is assuming that people have Android because it's an android-only app.
1) Start up a VPN that offers locations in India (eg hide.me)
2) Browse to youtube.com/pre…ium (http://www.youtube.com/premium) and start adding subscription
3) When entering payment details, enter India as your billing country (their system doesn't seem to check for validity)
