The only thing I see "leaching" toxins around here is that comment (y) here, have a small stackable ramekin x

ngextreme

Do these still leach Cadmium? And being the bright coloured plans, do they still have Leada in the paint?

fishball3000

Completely agree - and to prove, I actually have my grandmother's Le Creuset casserole pot still going strong! Fortunately she was a great dishwasher too.... ;-)

kebabthief

Which has absolutely no guarantee in how good quality it is. Some great products are made in China.

totemPole

How are these in terms of getting heat distribution over gas hob and do they take lot time to get hot?

I would say the "next best" from this wouldn't be 1/6th the price or even 1/2 the price so I'm not sure that's a good comparison. Le Creuset stuff is very well designed, long lasting and distributes heat much better than a £10-£15 pan from a homewares store, which would probably last you <10 years and I'd expect a Le Creuset pan to last a lifetime (hence their lifetime warranty). The non-stick coatings are great and the stainless stuff they do is 3-ply.

ei8hty5ive

Absolutely. That's why I haven't voted either way. I'm just stating why a lot wouldn't find a niche product, from a remote location, in a specific localised shop as great value. Hypothetical question. If I had an amazing can opener that was reduced, but is still six times the price of the next best can opener (that does exactly the same job), in my local, store specific, homewares store. Do you think that would probably be voted hot?

luizfelippe.zoghbi

It is not a debate weather you think you want to save £60 or not, it is about the price over time and the interest on the brand.

DistortedVision

I never expected it to get much heat because as I stated it's niche and only available instore at Cheshire Oaks. This does not make it a bad deal. It's half it's RRP! But I never expected it to go cold!

ei8hty5ive

I think a lot of people, like me, would rather keep the 60 quid in our pocket and use a normal pan that has never had an issue with making pancakes for as many years I have been cooking... Of course, it's not to say it's a bad product, it's probably a perfect pancake pan but I guess I'll never find out!

Check eCookShop and Hearts of Stur. I get all my LeCruset stuff from those two shops. They often do the 3 for 320 deal of whatever it was, netting you a huge saving.

I did buy a Tri-ply for a stir-fry. I had the heat high, the meat dry and I'm beat why such a neat guy left the kitchen like a pigsty. Sigh.

The chemical Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) was used in non-stick Teflon pans up until 2015 and has been linked to many diseases such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, liver tumours and reduced fertility. This chemical was found to build in peoples bodies so daily use was eventually seen as an unacceptable risk.3 Jan 2019 Why 99% Of Non Stick Pans Should Be Binned & Healthy ...

deleted335016

What amazes me is that people still don't understand you don't need non-stick cookware, even for eggs. It's all ultimately about being a little be careful and knowing how to control temperature to unstick things before it gets burned on. That said, some of the more novel non-stick cooking surfaces can be great too, stone or ceramic only though. The cheap thin pans with normal Teflon, they're a nightmare waiting to happen - that's what we're really saying avoid, and even the dearer ones with that coating. It's plain garbage. Watch pro chefs. Most if not all will be using them. So much simpler, more effective and even results, and so much easier to clean if you spend 10 minutes learning how to use them properly in the first place. Tri-ply pans aren't that expensive either and they last FOREVER. My grandmother has a set of 2 from 40 years ago, used every day and still in perfect condition. One frying pan and one pan. Ikea do a reasonable set, Morrisons, there are lots and lots. All are usually just fine. More expensive than the cheap aluminium ones (don't touch those) and quite heavy.

Excellent deal on a high quality item. Bizarre it’s voted so cold - but suppose when people are comparing these with Tescos then it’s always going to seem “pricey”. Thank you - have ordered a pair.

Lovely items but still to expensive for me

LouiseWeezGriffiths

I totally agree with you price wise. And for the average person who does not cook frequent and I suppose not on a professional level. I would say that the m & s one is fine. But for quality and end results. There really is no comparison.

bojangles

decent, but I am a Staub buyer.

kt82

I have Sainsbury's version of Le Creuset had it 5 years and still just as good as when I bought it. They did a blind test in it on a TV programme and everyone chose the Sainsbury's version at £35 for a casserole dish you can't go wrong.

No ones interested if you feel Le Creuset is expensive or not. It’s based on the sale they currently have on! I don’t think their target market are those who do weekly shops in Aldi on a budget YAWN

dazbang

And this is why you're not allowed nice things! ;) In all seriousness though, have you spoken to them? We had an issue with one pan after five years and they replaced it free of charge... It's well documented how great their lifetime warranty is (y)

abaxas

Standard 'get what you pay for' applies. It might be expensive but if love to cook, essential.

I always go on you tube and look at people using them. There's a good few videos on there.

cattons3

Cool thanks. I picked up one of their woks when it was really cheap on Amazon and am happy with it. Seen the frying pan reduced a couple times now and am very tempted, would just like to know some other's opinion of it

watto44

I've ordered one of the ones on this offer. I'll let you know when it comes and when I use it. I own several pieces of Le creuset and I've got to say that I absolutely love using it and if it's looked after properly it should last a lifetime. I know that it is expensive but cheap isn't always cheerful.

cattons3

Does anyone have any of their frying pans? Interested to know your opinion of them

Sorry just reread....... traybake might be stoneware, not cast iron
