Go for the ring floodlight pro instead . I upgraded from these to the pro… wayyyyyy better

These ones were just annoying even if a car went by … light going on for no reason sometimes plus the detection was hit and miss

The pro version way better it uses a 3d radar for way better human detection

    This explains it -

I already have a ring doorbell camera.. could I use this to monitor my back garden or down the side of the house?

    yes you can

i have the ring doorbell (battery operated so limited motion detection) so have bought the twin pack to have them hardwired with full motion detection for both front and back of the house. If you get the Ring Protect Plan then you can save recordings too (among other things!)

If you don't subscribe to the plan do you get 24hrs cloud recordings also how waterproof are these because in my case they won't be protected from the weather.

Very water proof. Ours has been open to elements for over a year

Although I was big fan of Ring Security camera, I have at least 15 of them. They are really great, cloud based solutions, but that’s until you want to use the footage for some evidence. 1080p video quality in modern era is crap. Also many time Ring Miss or capture the video after the motion. You can’t live view all cams at same time or can’t have continuous recording. I recently added new 4K IP cameras along with Ring setup and I hardly see any footage on Ring. (edited)

I’ve found the more ring cameras you have linked so ie if the door bell is linked to a driveway and porch camera the more the system fails.
All the cameras trying to upload their footage to the cloud. The system really needs a base station that can take footage from cameras, store locally and then upload to the cloud if required.
So unfortunately at moment the more cameras linked or uploading at the same time the more issues you have :-(
