Update 1
Thread updated
I’m all for saving money, especially on food! I was going to post the Free Sausage roll offer for students yesterday and noticed there were a few more discounts and freebies available.

So, I put together this thread that will hopefully help us save some money, or bag a freebie next time we pop into Greggs!

Below are some tips, and offers to get cheaper, or even free food and drinks:

1. Free Treats when you download the app

As a new app user, you'll get a reward for signing up. Right now you can enjoy a free bake and hot drink of your choice when you download and register for the Greggs App - get it on Google Play or the Apple App Store

2. Free Greggs sausage roll, vegan roll, or sweet treat for Students when you buy a Sandwich Deal

Students, this offer is for you! Every time you buy a sandwich deal at Greggs, you can claim a free sausage roll, vegan roll, or a sweet treat - you just need to show your student card!

You could even flash your card when family or friends buy a sandwich deal, which means you could grab some completely free food

"Subject to presentation of a Student Beans ID page, or valid student card on purchase of a full Sandwich Deal (see in store for details) you will be entitled to receive one of the following free of charge from Greggs: One Sausage Roll OR One Vegan Sausage Roll OR One Cheese & Onion Bake OR One sweet treat* (in selected stores only). *Sweet treat excludes multipacks." T&Cs can be found here

3. Free Sweet Treat On Your Birthday

Greggs will give you a FREE sweet treat every year on your birthday, via their app...
Hard to beat a nice freebie on your birthday!

4. Free Weekly Coffee At Greggs Any Day Of The Week - O2 Priority

Espresso. Latte. Cappuccino. Americano.... take your pick!

Reward is valid any day of the week from 16 May 2022 - 11 September 2023, while stocks last - subject to availability. If out of stock in-store, an alternative product may be supplied. Reward valid for take away orders only.

5. 50% Off Staff Discount

I'm not suggesting you pack in your job and go work for Greggs, however, if you do work there, you are entitled to a 50% discount on their own produced goods and a 25% discount on bought-in products!

If you have a friend that works there, maybe they would blag you a few discounted items now and then.

4022922_1.jpg

6. Free Greggs Coffee via Rewards App

Free Coffee offers pop up quite regularly on the Rewards app, and not just for new users. It's worth checking in regularly to see if any new offers are available.

Alternatively, you could turn on your notifications, that way you will be notified when a freebie becomes available.

7. Free Hot Drink Every Month for RAC Members

Enjoy a free hot drink on us every month from your local Greggs, the UK's high-street favourite.

How to redeem:
Use your handy nearby offers map on this page to find your nearest Greggs. At the Greggs till, just show this unique freebie code on your device to receive your one free regular hot drink: XXXXXXXXX

Find the offer here

8. Get 20p Off Your Hot Drink When Using A Reusable Cup

Not a huge saving, but let's face it, a lot of us use reusable cups nowadays anyway. Get pence discount off your hot drink when you use any Re-Usable Cup, it doesn't have to be a Greggs branded one

4022922_1.jpg

9. D.I.Y At Home

Ok, so not quite AT Greggs....but if like me, you don't have a Greggs in your local town, but still, fancy a Greggs sausage roll fresh from the oven, then it might be worth giving the Iceland Greggs Sausage Rolls a try

They come in regular, mini, and vegan options. Would be interested to know how these stack up in the taste test if anyone has tried them

10. Pizza + Drink after 4pm £2.20 / Hot deals to go from £4.80 / Hot Yum Yum’s with Dipping Sauce

Find All the details HERE

There's now new late-night opening at selected Greggs, with a new menu/offers

4022922_1.jpg

11. Get Rewarded As You Shop

Last but not least, you can be rewarded when you shop. "From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you’ll get a stamp. Collect 9 stamps in a category, and the 10th item will be free."

4022922_1.jpg

Hopefully this be useful for someone, personally, I'm now craving a sausage roll with brown sauce and a coffee

    Couple thing worth adding

Redeeming O2 and Greggs App Free Hot Drinks - Works on both regular and large hot drinks, plus if you want syrups then only works on Flavoured Lattes, if you want a flavoured hot choc then they should charge you 40p for the shot of syrup, though some staff might be nice to you or forget.

Claiming and redeeming on Greggs App - Buying a bottled drink including (which to my knowledge should include non-Greggs drinks such as Coca Cola, Fanta etc) should give you points on the Greggs app and to my knowledge you should be able to redeem your free Greggs App drink on these bottled ones too.

All meal deals + Sugar Tax! - sadly sugar tax is added on top of meal deal on full sugar drinks, so Classic Coca Cola Can (10p), Classic Coca Cola bottle (14p) and Red Bull (7p). So, if you buy the Pizza and Drink for £2.20 after 4pm with a Classic Coke can then it will be £2.30, with a Bottle then £2.34 etc.

Free Sweet Treat - Doesn't work on mulitpacks including Yum Yums which are currently only sold in boxes of 2

    Posting the Greggs/Confused small print
The unique code is only valid on regular hot drinks: Americano, White Coffee, Cappuccino, Latte, Speciality Latte (vanilla), Flat White, Espresso, Hot Chocolate, Mocha, Tea & Speciality Tea (Green and Peppermint). Also available on regular seasonal hot drinks, all hot drinks are subject to availability.

    This is interesting
To redeem your unique code, show your QR code on your mobile phone at your chosen Greggs location. If there are any issues scanning the QR code, the staff member will use the unique code supporting your QR code

So I have no interest in Greggs hot drinks. But they are enabled by a QR code in the Confused app. But if the QR code isn't scanning, they are able to use the human readable code (eg LBZ87) that the QR code is a digital image of. So in theory, if you've got a friendly Greggs associate, you may be able to use my human readable code to buy your hot drinks.
    Player-1's avatar
Anyone tried the code above for free drink

Tips to save money. Buy a loaf of bread some ham, a lettuce and some tomatoes- could cost anything from £2.50 to £5. You could make about 10 sandwiches and you wouldn't need to go to Greggs
    Sam_Elliot's avatar
Oh thanks so much that’s so much cheaper and tastier than the free donuts, sausage rolls, breakfast rolls and coffees that op was pointing me towards.

I have O2 and can't be bothered to claim the Greggs coffee each week. It's no way the same as the Nero coffee they got rid of.
    sparky.shark's avatar
I have o2 and never claimed the Nero (none round here). Can’t complain it’s still a free cuppa.

Why is this posted as Deal in this section? Surely this is something that belongs in the Discussion section...
Secondly, these are obviously tips, most people know this. You don't even mention the Stacked offers that can be done...

Come on, one rule for the mates of hukd and another rule for others. get this off here and into the misc section.

I redeem Virgin Red points for Gregg’s breakfast combos. Weirdly the exchange value is higher than most other redemptions for them.

    Interesting and useful thread.

Regarding the Greggs range at Iceland - sausage rolls pretty nice but not as nice as in-store baked ones. My favourite was the Cheese and onion pasties but recently I stopped buying them as they don't taste half as cheesey anymore. Shame. They're not exactly cheap either, coupled with the incredulous rising energy prices, it's probably cheaper to buy them in store now.
