Just a note The teaser plus plan does not include roaming.

RWG have been decent for me as a backup sim, under EE / now mobile so signal is usually good and 5G has been switched on now too. They have also stated no price rises for all 2023. Hopefully not a bait and switch, so far so good, would recommend.

Can I use this in Saudi Arabia?

Even went to the trouble of getting it for you. Their roaming in excellent especially if you just want to text loved ones and do a few WhatsApp. Most countries seem to be around 10p a MB. Much cheaper than the likes of ID Mobile et …

We do support Saudi Arabia and roaming rates are:

    20p/min
    free to receive
    10p/SMS
    10p/MB

As roaming goes I don't think there's anyone more reasonable. It would still add up very quickly but for emergency/urgent use with no hassle this is definitely one of the most competitive options.

    2 questions.
    rolling means can cancel anytime?
can i port a o2 number to this?

p.s i don't know much about mobiles, sims and contracts

edit: actually forget it. i just used the ofcom coverage checker and remember now why we're with o2, the only one with a green tick for data. (edited)

    Yes to all
The Lebara deals are even better, if they haven't expired hotukdeals.com/dea…441
Same with them, can cancel the monthly deals at any time & can port any UK-based number to them.

Lebara is via the Vodafone network, follow this link to check network reception in your area / postcode mobile.lebara.com/gb/…age
RWG is with the EE network, check reception here as above coverage.ee.co.uk/cov…/ee (edited)

I currently have a lebara deal that expires in a month, I may consider porting to the RWG teaser plan.
    bobogago's avatar
I've just ported from Lebara to RWG on their 24 months for £35 plan with no issues. Had their free 250MB per month sim in a spare phone for 18 months.

When it says it includes EU roaming, does that mean that I won't have to pay anything extra inútil to use data in Europe? Does it include any other countries outside of Europe? Many thanks
    keefly's avatar
    The EU is not Europe.

Your questions are answered in the RWG FAQ:

    rwgmobile.wales/faqs

"The EU is defined as the 27 countries within the European Union"

"Roaming outside of the EU requires a credit balance"

I've just ported in a number to them from Talkmobile, as it was an extra 1GB for the same monthly price. Shame you have to call Talkmobile to get a PAC out of them. Very happy with RGW for EE coverage and roaming. Lack of WiFi Calling is really the only downside for me, but still excellent value for money.
    plap's avatar
No need to call, you can text Talkmobile, worked for me =
    Text PAC to 6507

Please approach this company and deal with extreme caution. I wish that I have looked at the recent reviews on Trustpilot before taking the plunge and buying from these cowboys. Took 3 days for a number port to complete and left me unreachable on my original number for all that time. Also made the mistake of purchasing one of their data only SIMs which remains inactivated after a week now despite multiple emails, support requests and messaging them on their facebook page. Just try and phone their support line and listen to the message stating that their agents are unavailable all the time and you will know what I am talking about here. I will give them to the beginning of next week to see if they will activate my SIM before reporting the issue to my card issuer and cancelling my accounts. (edited)

I have been without my old mobile number now for the third day with my port-in request having stalled after my old SIM was deactivated by RWG but with the number not yet transferred to my new SIM. A very poor start with RWG I have to unfortunately say.
  11. freccle's avatar
I have the 2 year one in a spare phone left in the car. We go to Turkey in a few weeks and I think I'm going to get the global sim for there
    innocent's avatar
    I. think your 2 Yr sim will already be "global", you just buy extra credit or a suitable bundle but best to check with RWG customer service. (edited)

I have had a £15.00 lifetime SIM with them for about 6 months and not had any major problem with them. Pity they don’t do the £15.00 for life deal now as I’d get another for my wife’s phone.
    Samuelmccartney's avatar
Don't worry you'll not have missed out. I tried to order another lifetime sim but they refused to allow another for the same household.

Had the free monthly one for over a year now. I still get better signal with smarty/three but can't complain about rwg, they're good value.
  13. Zephyrv's avatar
I'm on their free tarrif, has been great so far. Quick customer service and decent offers
  14. liltman's avatar
Great prices. I am with them on the free for life plan (you don't get much but I don't use much so fine for me).
However I had a few issues at first, and support told me they tend to have some issues with Google phones.
I managed to fix it myself in the end and all good now. So far.
Still a bit iffy on relying on this so I am watching how it goes.

If anyone has trouble getting a signal and are unable to send texts/make calls or basically do anything.
Check your sim settings and then network.and manually set them because it was not working for me when it auto set itself up. This was the fix!

Just choose whatever it shows up as, EE, or NOW-EE. It might show as one of those.
    shopkeeper's avatar
How did you get the free for life plan? I very rarely use my phone to make calls or text having next to no friends and only really need my phone so annoying members of my immediate and extended family can get in touch with me
  15. Android786's avatar
On their £5 lifetime plan and sometimes i don't receive texts and can only receive them after calling any number. Such a weird thing and rwg says there's no issues. S23 ultra is my phone
    afn's avatar
You need to turn your phone off every now and again. That forces you to re register on the network. Switch your phone on/off or do a manual roam on the network and bang all your messages come through.
  16. mb1's avatar
Strangely deals like this are just not on MSE's radar. Lyca and Lebara just seem to fill their cheapest "deals". Their loss.
    UKScottDeals's avatar
Not really their loss, it's probably because they won't get referral commission from RWG (edited)
  17. huntk1's avatar
I've been waiting 8 days for my number to port in. Absolutely ridiculous.
No one replies to emails and no one answers the support telephone number.
    Avoid like the plague
  18. winchman's avatar
Just a bit strange they don't do WiFi calling given that a lot of Wales is rural..
  19. freccle's avatar
Do they not have wifi calling on any of their plans? Can you not call via whatsapp?
    StaceyQ's avatar
No yet apparently but likely soon as EE have rolled it out on their own PAYG.

Wifi calling is using your standard number over Wi-fi (functionality built into most phones now)
Third party apps (like Whatsapp) usually requires the other person also uses that app.

Swapped to RWG recently after Plusnet decided to up my monthly bill by 14.4% for fun and I can't complain at all as I get the same tarrif for far less than I did before. It uses the "Now Now" network (but is still really EE), though strangely now mobile offer more expensive plans themselves, just like Plusnet.

It does seem daft when these MVNO's using EE offer access to cheaper packages offering more data than going directly to EE themselves. I mean swapping MVNO's to get a better deal on essentially the same network is just stupid IMHO.
    t3r4's avatar
MVNOs are nearly always cheaper than the host networks. Often they're owned by their parent company anyway - Smarty owned by Three, Plusnet owned by EE, VOXI and Talkmobile owned by Vodafone.

It's just price discrimination for the "branding" and the greater overhead of the big networks - those stores, glossy advertising etc cost too.
  21. Rayleigh's avatar
    Lyca & Lebara are cheaper
    innocent's avatar
RWG's backbone EE is far superior for most.
  22. Anon32's avatar
Looks like there is a teaser for £2 a month as well even though the yearly and two yearly sim offer better value
49972956-aPN8w.jpgThe £20 a year works out at £1.66 a month. You also get more minutes and data but depends whether you like paying yearly or need a monthly cost or want to risk them not being around. But £20 is not a lot to lose if they disappeared. Someone said they’d gone bust already and bought out by someone else. (edited)

Just ordered the 2yr fixed price deal with EU roaming & 2gb monthly data for all in £45 - that's £1.88 a month !
If it goes well I'll get another one & port my main no. across - 2gb a month is enough for me, plus I've got 2 phones, so can switch if I'm running out of data...

Great feature of RWG is you can add an extra data bundle if travelling (edited)

"Someone said they’d gone bust already and bought out by someone else"
    I think fake news
Hence “someone said on here.” I do not know whether there was truth in it or not. Besides it’s running now and looks like it will be in the foreseeable future. Unless something drastic happens you can never say never. But all in all if I didn’t have the £1 Sky deal I would get the two year sim.

Just a note The teaser plus plan does not include roaming

    Roaming
International roaming is automatically enabled when you receive your RWG Mobile SIM Card. All EU roaming is included on the same terms as your UK plans and prices for all of our monthly plans above £3.50 (not included on FREE, £2, £3.50 plans or 1 Yr and 2 Yr plans).
The EU is defined as the 27 countries within the European Union.
EU Roaming outside of bundles is charged at standard rates of 5p/min, 5p/SMS and 1p/MB.
Roaming outside of the EU requires a credit balance.
You do not need to change the APN settings on your phone in order to receive data services abroad

Just checked you can roam anywhere in the world on RWG. So not sure what you mean by you can’t roam. You certainly well can.
    Poctenicko's avatar
You just proved roaming is not included in Teaser plus plan... Which costs £3.50 so it's excluded.
All EU roaming is included on the same terms as your UK plans and prices for all of our monthly plans above £3.50 (not included on FREE, £2, £3.50 plans or 1 Yr and 2 Yr plans).
They mention if the plan includes the roaming in the plan list (includes EU Roaming).

You can roam on Teaser plus plan but you have to pay extra ie roaming is not included in the plan. (edited)
  28. Vorb's avatar
Those prices seem decent for the EE network.

Ordered one of these the other day (added to my account as already have a different one of theirs in the iPad) and going to leave o2 once we’ve got into May, hopefully not being penalised as my year’s contract is up with them at the month”s end. Only thing I’d miss (I think) is Wi-Fi calling and that might be added sometime later, according to the website.

  36. malhal's avatar
Ordered a free sim then will have a go at adding a 30day plan close to the end of my Plustnet 30 days. It says they need 2 working days to port number too so maybe will start the process 3 days before.
