For all those asking, you will only get a maximum of 27W out of this unless using a Xiaomi phone (and the special Xiaomi USB cable) because it's not using USB PD standard voltages above that. In reality you may even see less as many devices use their own proprietary standard above around 18W (e.g. OnePlus).

I did a long post about this on a previous Xiaomi charger deal, so if you want the ins and outs then it'd be worth trying to find that, but generally if you need to charge at more than 27W on a non-Xiaomi phone then this is not what you want. (edited)

I have seen charge rate of 43watts on my laptop when using this

Will it charge a laptop please?
    AC-DC's avatar
100% will, I have this and it charges both my XPS 13 and work T480

As far as I'm aware, Xiaomi has proprietary charging tech (Hypercharge) and only charges full speed on compatible devices. Any other device it will default to slow charging.
Let's see how many will be disappointed after buying this. Sometimes reading the comments before buying, helps. Good deal BTW. (edited)

Indeed. They have an extra fifth pin in the USB socket on the PSU and in the cable, which Xiaomi phones use to signal a higher charging rate. Obviously this isn't part of the standard USB spec so other brands won't be able to take advantage. Nor will Xiaomi phones if you replace the lead with a standard one, and the charge rate will drop. From memory the highest wattage this supports whilst using official USB-PD voltage is 9V @ 3A, so 27W and that's what I've seen using my cables with built-in watt-meter both on Xiaomi phones and other brands. I haven't test charging a laptop with it but would expect the same result.

Be a good buy for all those realme 7 pro buyers that didn't get a UK charger.
    dkj255's avatar
IIRC Realme are a BBK brand the same as Oppo and OnePlus? That being the case, you'll find it's fast charging tech is incompatible with this - it'll still charge but probably only at around 18W. I believe you need a VOOC/Warp charger for Realme, but I've never owned one so can't confirm.

I wonder if someone can help me, I'm probably just being so stupid, however, I got a xiaomi poco x3 pro a few years ago which has honestly been amazing however the charger wire eventually broke and every single wire I've used since doesn't allow me to 'Hi Turbo Charge' just only fast charge it isn't a huge issue I just have always wondered what I'm missing that's probably so obvious I'd appreciate the help, does anyone know where I can get a replacement? You can get them from Amazon. You need the Xiaomi type cable with the red plastic bit in the plug at each end. From memory they're about £8-£9 for a standard 1m-ish length. This looks like it'll work amazon.co.uk/ACO…h=1

With this cable you should be able to charge at the full rated speed (probably 33W) provided you're using the original charger.

Will this charge Samsungs fast ? Laptops at least
    sheffield788's avatar
No. This is proprietary and will charge at this speed only a few compatible phone models. Samsung needs a PPS charger. Depending on the model, Samsung charges at 25w or 45w. This is more powerful but proprietary, so you'll not get more than 18w on your Samsung. Forget about the laptops too. The description on this deal states which devices are compatible with this charger. (edited)

    Hi OP,

Would these be compatible with the new POCO F5 256/8 and 256/12 variants? For those who are buying from AliExpress as they are shipped with the EU two pin plugs. Many thanks in advance. (edited)

It says yours can be charged up to 67W so get it with a proper cable if you don't have one and should do the job.

Will this charge a Pixel 7 super fast ?, as normal charger is disappointingly slow
    Xxavier's avatar
Charges pixel 7 to the Max wired speed allowed

Are these genuine? Seem a bit too cheap compared to elsewhere?

Also any idea how this will work with a Xiaomi 12T pro that comes with a 120W charger. Will it simply take twice as long?
    dkj255's avatar
They're not that cheap considering they're likely returns/used ("May have slight blemishes, but in As-New condition (Not In Retail Packaging Removed from Xiaomi boxes)") and Xiaomi themselves sell them brand new at £24.99 with lead but are currently out of stock.

Yes it'll take longer, but probably not twice as long as it doesn't scale linearly. You can also buy the 120W charger for £39.99 from Xiaomi with the lead. (edited)

Does anyone know what this charger weighs? I'm asking because I am going on holiday soon and the 120w charger that came with my Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G is about the size and weight of half a house brick!
    dkj255's avatar
It's around 75% the size - more or less the same as Xiaomi's 33W charger. You can get the specs from Xiaomi's website but it's not going to be substantially smaller or lighter like for example the Samsung 25W charger or original Xiaomi 22.5W charger. (edited)
