I have never quite understood the usefulness of a fixie 🤷‍♀️. Is it just a matter of fashion over form?

Its a simpler bike so less to go wrong but the main benefit is the training effect of having to push harder on hills, and having to keep the pedals turning even down hills. You have to watch out for pedal strikes if you lean over too far on corners though so shorter cranks are usually better. Singlespeed mode on the other hand allows you to stop pedalling while moving and so is a bit safer. If you are not already reasonably fit then this is probably not the bike for you.

Please don't bother with this brand. Fixie Inc bikes feel cheap, run terribly, and with the chinese components they come equipped with, you'll be looking for a replacement within a year. I'm saying this from experience.
If you're looking for an alternative on this budget, go with a Decathlon single speed or a State 4130. Much better value for money.

I'm voting cold - nobody likes a floater

Is this fixed or single speed? My experience with fixies is they usually only have a single brake?

Could go even simpler and get a unicycle. Only one tyre to get a puncture. Less framework No handlebars. It's the future of simple travel.
