Been running periodic searches for cruises as a cheap extra hol and this popped up. No good for us as we’re tied to school hols, although tempted (to pay the fine) given it’s £1500 incl Free at sea for 2A 2C. But thought I’d post as seems like a very good price for those that aren’t in school holiday prison.

Description says Med, but itenerary says Norway

Hope it helps someone:

So, not only does this cruise go nowhere near the Mediterranean but you have to make your own way back to the UK from Tromso at a cost of £230 per person if going to Heathrow!! Not much of a bargain then!

I updated the title, it was copied from Seascanner, but I checked NCL and the itinerary is correct.

I had a quick look and there are some flights with Norwegian for £73 (plus bags) on 13th to LGW. So possibly better to stay an extra night rather than pay £230 to LHR.

I guess its subjective, but for 12 nights cruise, even adding in flights, it doesnt seem like a bad deal to me. But if there are better, I'd genuinely love to see them. Especially if any are workable with school hols (even a few days outside is fine).

There is some new pricing for this one.

Worth trying NCL direct as they have a flight credit offer that may get/offset a flight.

£pp no solo sup Inside GTY no balcony available for solos.
    £359 base fare
£484 with free at sea(1/2 price addon)

    £186 grats optional

    4 in cabin(very tight) £1029 with FAS £1278

If you look at the later dates there are some really good offers and the 1/2 price FAS make them bargains.
Flights should be easier as PLAY do Iceland from Stansted

Thanks, with the flight credit even more tempting.

Had a quick look but NCLs site is rubbish from mobile. When I put 4 people in it came up as £2k for FAS, couldn’t see way to add that they are children.

Only 2 countries on the itineray and one of them is Scotland. I think this is a very niche cruise.

Yeh is it the Med or Norway? It's a good price either way, all the Scotland stops sound good IMO, would love to visit both Island stops. Booked a cruise to Norway next month and our ship just rags it to Norway and we spend two days just at sea, so seems a great deal for about £30 a day.

It ends in Norway, do you need to sort your own flight home?

I'd be tempted to tell the school they've got the runs, you've got the first five days in school holidays. We've got a 2nd week off this half term and we'd only have to miss one day of school.

Unfortunately mine have already been off multiple times with the runs/vomiting :/ On a couple of occasions I suspect they just spat the school dinners out and we’re sent home with no return within 48 hours.

If the out of school bit was before the HT hol, I could have got away with it. Just book em a school dinner they don’t like, they’ll spit it out and get sent home

It’s a real pity as my eldest has been studying the Scottish Islands and would love to go. And I want to do the Fjords. So a pretty good itinerary for us.

It’s £1500 for 2A 2C incl free at sea upgrade. Which is as good as AI, given kids are young so we can get em softs/etc on our package. Even if return flights are £500 (I think they’d be cheaper as it’s outside sch hols) you cant beat £2k AI for 12 nights in the current climate. (edited)

Excellent deal considering flights and package deal holidays have all rocketed in price, cruises are half the price.

Looks like a one way cruise. Southampton to Norway. No return cruise to Southampton

Yep. Sometimes NCL offer cheap fare or credit for airfare. If you’re interested may be worth pinging them.

I haven’t checked airfares properly as I can’t take this offer. But it’s outside school hols so should be able to get a cheap flight back hopefully.

15.50 pppd in tips seems a lot, I thought it was normally about 6

I agree its the same with "resort fees" make it look good value then ramp the price up

I just double checked on NCL.

Cruise for the 4 of us would be £1303 with FAS. Discretionary Service charges are £744 as they add them for kids over 3y/o

Maybe I’m tight, but I’ve never left anywhere near £744 in tips for a 12 day holiday. And I’ve been lucky enough to go to some pretty expensive resorts/holidays. Even in the Mara, where tipping is very much expected, we’ve only left ~$200pw. (edited)
