Take your home plan abroad

You can use your UK allowance of data, minutes and texts in Zone A at no extra cost on all of our plans.
If your Xtra Plan has inclusive roaming in 51 European destinations, you can roam in Zones A and B at no extra cost. If your plan doesn't have inclusive roaming, then there's a daily charge of £2.25 a day to use your allowance in Zone B. You can reduce this cost by using one of our European Roaming Passes.
If your Xtra Plan has inclusive roaming in 83 worldwide destinations, you can roam in Zones A, B, and C at no extra cost. If your plan doesn't have inclusive roaming, then there's a daily charge of £6.85 a day to use your allowance.

    i have done that twice now. works fine
    Buy new line, cancel old one, and port number out to asda sim. Port number back to new vodafone contract.

    Plus if you can do this in stores as over 95% are franchises operated by local small business owners.
    Online sales go direct to Voda, in store support the small teams etc.

    The best way to keep your old number with Vodafone instead of porting out and back again is to change it to PAYG sim, then 30 days later bring back your number to the new VF sim. Obviously you need to be out of contact or in the last 30 days etc but it’s a good way of picking up a better deal.

    Upvoted. While I can get it a bit less from the mobiles.co.uk cashbacks, they are less.reliable at sending them as they used to be. While sending the claims isn't a hassle to me, my wife always forgets to do hers. Having this instead would be much better for her.

    second that mobiles cashback used to be great but had to chase up twice recently affordable mobiles straight into bank account no hassle or cheque.

    FYI this deal is still available.

    I was a BB only customer and got this deal through the chat. This deal also unlocked a £3 discount off my BB, which was a nice surprise, so effectively it's a £7m a month deal for me!

    Currently with Vodafone and contract expires in December. If I take out this additional contract will I be able to port my number at the end of my existing contract?

    I’m a Vodafone broadband customer and I can see this available. I left VF mobile a while back to take up a Lebara deal (personally don’t feel the coverage is as good as ‘full’ VF). Presumably I could port my number from Lebara back…would I then also get the £3pm saving on my BB contract again? That would make the plan effectively the same as what I’m paying now but with more data & better coverage?

    My advice to anyone just about to be out of contract with Vodafone is take the upgrade offer from mobiles.co.uk - no messing with PAC codes and your bill suddenly becomes around £8 p/m for 100gb data for another 12 months. Hope that helps someone.

    So have I got this right:

    1. get additional sim for £10
    2. cancel my current voda contract next month as I am in month 11
    3. port that (with main number to asda)
    4. port from asda to voda additional £10 sim?

    Yes since it is a new plan, it will have a new number. This plan will be in addition to your existing plan and number, which will not change.

    This would become the main line, we do this every time our contract ends. When my contract expires take out an additional line and do all the porting stuff. Not had an issue, done it for the last three changes.

    I requested my pac code yesterday as I'm out of contract with Vodafone and after seeing this deal. Today they rang me and offered me 150gb data sim for £13 per month as an upgrade. Although this is more than the £10 deal. There's no faffing about having to add additional line and then to cancel current contract and then to port number over etc.

    I went for this, my thanks to the OP and others who provided information on using it as your main sim. Whilst more expensive than the likes of mobiles.co.uk, it saves a lot of hassle (I've had a couple of delayed cheques/missing and had to jump through hoops to get the cashback).

    Yes, still there for me. Also 150GB for £13 and unlimited for £20.

    Though I have decided not to take it for my wife and gone for the mobiles.co.uk upgrade instead for her. If she is going to end up on my bill anyway leaving me to look after it, then I might as well just login to her account and do the cashbacks. If I do it, then they won't get forgotten, nor would I leave the old contract going well past the renewal date.
