I did this in April. You can usually get similar prices and spend the weekend there without it being school holidays. We flew out at dinner time on the Saturday and then flew back at 9pm Sunday evening, giving us the full day Sunday in the park. It worked out cheaper than going to London. There is a bus that takes you to Legoland from the airport that takes around 10 mins and costs around £2 each. (edited)

Would you say a day is enough time, or did you have to choose your rides? I guess would be busier over the summer

Good price , re purchasing Lego if anyone is interested here are my learnings from a recent visit:

1 -Legoland is owned by Merlin and apart from the exclusive sets is not worth it for any sets on site
2 - Lego House is owned by Lego and they have a store inside . The store has exclusives which are worth snapping up if that is your thing . The other Lego is a similar price to the UK
3 - The Billund airport store which is through customs on any outbound flights from Billund is an interesting store . It has a lot of retired sets , sometimes has a 20% off offer with a minimum spend of around 60 Euro and is actually owned by the airport. If you can wait this is a good shout to purchase Lego .
    Thanks

Well worth a visit to Billund. I visit a few times a year. The Legoland over there does not attract the queues like the Windsor one. I’ve been in their school holidays a good few times and the maximum I waited was 30 minutes.

If you do plan or buying Lego while there don’t forget to claim the taxes back. You will need to get the Lego House/Legoland to stamp and give you the form to get the refund. When you have these head to the airport on the way home you will find the customs office across from the car hire places as you enter the airport. Once the form is approved by customs head upstairs and go to the currency exchange desk where they give you cash back.

if you are visiting for a few days the Lego House is a great visit along with the Legoland. There is also the Lalandia across the road from Legoland. This is good with a large pool with slides. There’s also ice skating in there with crazy golf, tenpin bowling.

The accommodation in Billund can be expensive I stay in the town of Vejle, which is around a 30 minute drive way. If you are thinking of getting a car in Billund and are worried about driving on the wrong side etc Billund I found to be very easy to drive there due to the quieter road.

Also don’t forget to bring yourself some original recipe Ribena back much better than the junk we get here now.

Seems crazy to me to visit another country only to base it around Lego, ice skating, crazy golf and ten pin bowling. Each to their own of course, but surely experiencing the country and culture itself is more worthwhile than doing the things you’d do back home? Albeit maybe slightly cheaper.

Well worth a visit, we did last month. Hired a car, stayed in a Dancenter holiday home (beautiful house and gardens), used Netto for shopping. Lego House is brilliant in the centre of Billund, 2nd day Legoland, day 3 drove to a few towns/cites. Beautiful country, expensive for everything.

Good question as they have never let me down once unlike easyjet

I think people expect a £9.99 flight and free bags and free seats and free meals

Thanks op! Thought covid/ COLC would have limited these fares, good to see they are still around

Denmark is great, but around 30% more expensive than the UK for most things. Trains are reasonable though. I think their legoland tickets are £50 per person per day, or £70 for 2 days? They have a different school holiday period, late June until early August.

People who have been, what age range would you say Legoland Billund is suitable for? I'm wondering if my 9 & 11 yo will be too old.

I found a lot of the stuff was even decent for adults felt a lot older than Windsor more a general theme park if a little younger
