As mentioned above its likely the last of the stock is being cleared out now the Poco F5 and F5 pro are out.

I picked the F5 up on the sale last week and honestly I have no idea what people have been moaning about with it. It's been the closest to stock android experience I've had in a long time outside the pixel phones. minimal miui integration but what's there is usually useful anything not so can be uninstalled or replaced by your preferred app etc.

People complaining about the speakers must have turned off Dolby Atmos, without it they aren't great with it though they are more than good. battery life has been stellar, on standby your looking at about 1% loss per every 3 hours. My wife never charged her phone for 62 hours, over those days she was at work so use was minimal until she came home then light browsing and Instagram etc. While screens on for browsing etc expect about a 1% loss every 7-8 mins, with brightness about 50% and 120hz screen refresh. Not bad at all if it manages 11 hours browsing time continuous.

Don't bother with the ultrawide and macro lens use the main camera for everything and it takes good photos. Fingerprint reader is super fast and reliable as is face unlock so long as you have some illustration even from a TV is fine but in pitch darkness it won't work.

A nice find was that on Vodafone, where we have a 5G mast that provides coverage at home, the Poco F5 does support calls over 5G without needing to "switch it on" this is only just being rolled out as far as I can tell by Vodafone but rather than dropping back to 4G the phone remains on 5G and places the call, obviously if the mast and network support it. nice to know it's supported though.

Overall it's been astonishingly good not even for the price, it would easily compete at £200 above its RRP compared to the competition. I've had iPhones, Samsung's, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony, Nokia, pixels and more over my years. For straight up android with minimal skinning on top the F5 is banging with fast charging, nice bright screen which is more than visible in bright light I don't know what eye searing screens people need and I'm sure an s23 ultra gets brighter but really it's unnecessary and in the price bracket for which the Poco is competing the specs meet or surpass the competition.

The GT in this deal is equally capable and a great price, just I reckon 12GB ram keeps it relevant for more years down the line.

Warranty Returns Are A Nightmare
Xiaomi handsets are excelent value and also very good handsets with the exception of the pre installed bloatware, I have owned quite a few Xiaomi handsets and I still own a Poco X3 Pro and have purchased all my handsets from Amazon except one. I had a problem wiith a Redmi handset purchased direct from Xiaomi. While it was still under guarantee the Redmi handset developed a charging problem and it was a real pain communicating with Xiaomi, countless phone calls and emails asking the same questions over and over gain, really frustrating, I gave up in the end and persevered with the charging problem, I will never purchase direct from Xiaomi ever again. Pay a few quid more if the same handset becomes available on Amazon (not a third party company on Amazon), they are excellent at dealing with warranty returns.

Does anyone know if you can pay directly by credit card (so you get credit card protection - not paying by Paypal Account) and which courier they use for delivery - do you get proper hour by hour tracking? Are POCO known for running a decent online shop - quick despatch, help if there are problems etc? Thanks (edited)

I highly recommend getting the Poco F5 from AliExpress instead - codes which are always floating around take the 256GB model down to £250-270 or so. It's a lot better value than the deals posted here (I'm aware that this deal is from Xiaomi UK, but warranty support is not meant to be great with them anyway).

Myself and several others in a recent Poco F5 thread recently got our handsets and not one of us got any import fees.

To be honest, on paper these phones look super loaded with the latest chipsets and capacity but the experience rarely translates into a premium one. While the screen would be amoled and refresh rates high, these are drains on your battery and you eventually keep the screen set at lower refresh rates. The cameras are just ok. Also too many ads. The F4 is not a massive upgrade over the F3.
Don't get me wrong, as an ex owner, these are great phones for the price but not the best experience for me. Sold mine at CEX and put in another couple of hundred quid and got a very good iPhone 12 Pro off eBay. No regrets.
Maybe I might be wrong about the F5, though, haven't tried it.

Looks very likely the 256GB variant is already out of stock before the sales kicks in (buying button is greyed-out). Only the 128GB Black remaining.

How does the F4 compare for camera performance versus Redmi Note 10 Pro (with 108 MP camera)?

I managed to grab the black phone for my wife who got her one stolen recently, although I wanted to get the silver or green one. Cannot complain really, considering that I was among a few of people who managed to buy.

My Poco X3 pro still going very strong. Been a few years now. Are these ones better?

I'm not sure why it's quite so hot in here unless prices have generally really jumoed for phones in last 12minths. Spec-wise, the F4 doesn't look too much different to the mi10t lite and that was the classic £199 deal phone two years back.

Well that was a waste, my F4 GT came completely dead and unresponsive out of the box, been on charge all evening and nothing except a white battery symbol

Tried everything, the 120W, the 33W from F3 and little 22.5W from note 11

Can't even raise a support request, fill in form says network issues, go via order select replacement and none of the buttons are active to progress and submit.

Anyone else with new GT come up with issues (edited)

Do these have SD card slots and if so can you move apps onto it?

My Note 8t is struggling on internal storage and I can't find away of moving apps to the SD card.

Tried Poco (X3 Pro) and got burned by them. Broke within 3 months (just froze up and was stuck in a cycle of turning on/off constantly), got it replaced under warranty and the new phone did exactly the same thing after 6 months. Really hard to find good tech support online because they're not a mainstream brand. And their OS is just awful. I've switched to Pixel since and it's just so much better in every way.

So after all this fuss, they only had a handful of each and only the black GT?

Managed to destroy my F3 this week after it fell out of my cycling jersey so this could be good timing. Do I buy the F4 or pay the extra for the AliExpress deal for the F5 🫣
