Is it mandatory to buy subs and or adapter? Will it continue to work without? I guess I can use screen record if needed?

You get 30 days free. Then still works without, they just don't send you video clips if motion activated. You have to go to live view. (edited)

Can the camera feed be accessed through the ring app? (already have a ring doorbell)

No. You access it via the blink app

I have found the motion detection on this to be a bit hit and miss, but I am stil trying to adjust the sensitivity to see if that is the problem - seems to take video for about 95% of movement, but that 5% is a bit annoying...

    Got two for £19 each.

Thanks. Both my accounts gave me £10 off £30 spend, for watching a prime film, listening to a song, and making a purchase over £5. Check your notifications. Threw in a galaxy chocolate bar to make it £30 😜

Seems better night vision than all my other Blink cameras. And got the subscription activated again, with a free 30 days. (edited)
