- samboy08This is your own fault mate, you paid tax. Should have selected Jersey then you wouldn't have paid VAT. it does state in the T&C's that you won't get cashback on VAT.

Remember that those who are residents of Colorado, the Channel Islands or similar don't pay taxes on the product. Tcb will not refund those taxes if you are eligible to pay vat

OperateOnMeI took this a few years ago, I am a light internet user at home, one-two hours a day max. Kept getting disconnected and account closed down for exceeding bandwidth after 3 months a of a 24month pre-paid contract. I even had 2FA enabled so it would only be three devices (phone, laptop and TV). They refused to refund the remainder of my contract and kept the money, as they are not based in the UK, they essentially stole the money
Be careful with surfshark as they are sharks
The cashback which had tracked was declined as 3 months had not passed
The sharks also tried to auto-renew and sent me invoices for payments at two years, thankfully I used a disposable visa card (edited)

I don't get the praise they get heaped on them here. I've yet to see much praise for Surfshark from the angles of honesty, trustworthyness etc. Traits that are absolutely essential for a VPN provider. So much of it here seems to be from the viewpoints of what cashback etc can be got when buying their VPN. How is that a sign of a good VPN?

Nord VPN who now own Surfshark do exactly the same thing. They have lost a lot business as a result of this practice. Check your IP. Internal devices are 192, but if you see 100 then you might need to pay for a fixed IP address from your ISP. I did ask this of SS. Can't find their response at the moment

Found it. If you are behind CGNAT then a dedicated address from SS will not support port forwarding, so remote access to your pc, PLEX, NAS, etc will be more difficult and troublesome.

They claimed that the deals were not 'deals', they most definitely were bona fida deals. The mod talked nonsense, it appeared that they did not understand certain principals that are involved in VPNs, so I have no idea how they were in a position to decide. I get that mods may have to deal with items that they are not familiar with, if in doubt surely its better to ask for help than make nonsensical rulings?
I gave up with dealing with their behavior and have not posted any new deals for anything on here since. I share them in other ways and they seem to be appreciated.
