How long would this take to get from room temperature to zero degrees when connected to a 12v power supply?

Plugged mine in at a recent motorhome rally a few hours after picking up at Halfords. Within 1 hour it was cooling and within 2 it was down to temperature. Had quite a few people looking at it, strange they all wanted to try how cold the Budweiser was ?? I ran it for 5 days in total, set it at -4 as my other thermometer was showing a higher reading than the one on the control panel. NOTE If you have / know someone with a Blue light or defence discount card there is another £18 off. I paid £182 for the 40ltr version.

Really annoyed. I ordered and paid for one online. I got an email to confirm the order telling me it would be ready to collect within an hour. The Malvern store closes at 6, so I headed over (25 mile drive). I got there for 5.40pm to be told they didn’t actually have any. Their only defence / excuse was they tried to call me at 5.20pm and left a message to say they had cancelled the order. I tried explaining that answering my phone whilst driving is not something I do and that I was already on route.

I got no apology, no empathy and no desire to put things right. I now have to wait up to 5 days to get my money back (what makes it worse is that I bought £150 of non refundable Halfords vouchers via a work perks scheme that I’m now going to be stuck with)!

Just really disappointed with their ‘not my problem’ attitude.

I tried to get the manager to explain how their stock control works and how a £350 50l cool box can vanish! Totally wrong that they take your money for stock they don’t have and let you travel to ‘not’ collect it.

I had a similar experience with Halfords a few years back. I was really annoyed with the wasted time - I travelled a fair distance, as I needed a specific tool midway through a job on a car. I then had to drive to another store, that had the tool in stock ( I phoned them).
I wrote a quick, polite email to Halfords, laying out my experience - they provided the tool Free of Charge

Bought the 40ltr version of this 2 weeks ago for my motorhome. Back up for my main fridge (beer store really) Works really well, pulls around 6 amps off 12 v when cooling so you need a good battery and top up system. Temperature display is off a few degrees so you need to set it lower than what you need. Interesting to see how big the battery is (amps) as its not stated anywhere. (edited)

Newport, Bridgend, Swansea, and Llanelli all have/had stock today, after reporting out of stock yesterday.

Another one here that the order went through for collection at the Sheffield branch…got a call with no voice mail left so called the customer services..
was told they only had ONE left in stock but it was a display model and someone had stolen the battery. I said ‘’What discount is there off it it for being ex display and missing a battery?’ and was told ‘None? Why?’.
Cancelled the order and now waiting for the refund…total jokers.

Help me out here please. If i'm not having an electric hookup for what will mostly be weekend camping could I get away with a hard shell cool box (prepared correctly of course)? Will any one work or am I going to be wasting my money if I don't buy something like the Igloo brand?

What would you argument be for me to spend £200 more for this deal please? (I guess I could pay extra for electric hookup each time).

Edit: ah, realised what the draw is on this - rechargable so no need for electric hookup. I guess I'm still torn if it doesn't last any longer than a properly prepared/iced "dumb" cool box (edited)

Is there a way to switch the compressor on when using battery only? It works fine when plugged in but when battery only, it turns on and off and shows the temperature but the compressor doesn’t kick in at all. Any ideas?

Just had mine swapped from a 40lt to a 50lt as 40lt was faulty, don't even think they knew it was different!
Mine comes on with battery but only in eco mode?
    Still working through vague instructions

I don't see this on the website anymore. But I was in Halfords today, and the 50l is £200, and the 40l is £225. (that is not a mistake, bigger one is cheaper!) So with the £5 motoring club discount and 10% off you should be able to get this around £175 (edited)

I saw one today in Halfords and bought it (for £95).

Does anyone know - when you take the battery out, can you charge it separately when it's not attached to the fridge? There's a small circular port for a cable at the side of the battery when you take it out of the fridge, but mine didn't come with any cables other than the 3 point plug mains and cigarette lighter cables which plug into the fridge unit itself. Thanks for any info - I'm wondering if the battery could be removed and taken off somewhere to be recharged if camping with no electric hookup, without having to take the whole fridge with you - leaving the fridge with no power on a temporary basis while the battery charges.
