The margins they make on a cup of hot drink must be phenomenal.
    Cerealhunter's avatar
The margins they show in this country will be minimal to avoid tax, they’ll show the margins in a tax free haven.

Eg they may buy their cups and lids for £2 each from their sister company that is situated in a tax haven, the uk company will make 30p a cup on which they’ll be charged UK tax - the sister company will indirectly make £1.99 per cup tax free.

    True story.

Does this now exclude smoothies? It used to be a decent deal with smoothies
    GordonGekko's avatar
They’ve stopped making smoothies now. The only one they do is from the bottle which isn’t included.

I will wait until Oct to subscribe as it’s 31 days (sep is 30 days)

LOL this genuinely made me chuckle, I'll do the same. Thanks.

I had a Pret trial long before they increased the price or I'd so be getting this!! Heat for the post (edited)

Yeah its good that lapsed users can join up again too

    When does the offer expire?

    Terms
    6. Promotion Period: The promotion is ongoing from 23 August 2023 until further notice, and may be ended at any time at our discretion without notice.

Those terms seem to suggest there is a second offer ongoing that gives 50% off on the first 2 months, which is slightly better if you are definitely going to stick with Club Pret for a second month. (edited)
  6. starbidder's avatar
Excluded PRET stores not participating in the promotion are the service stations - Moto, Welcome Break and Motor Fuel Group.

Is it possible to share this with someone? eg one can sign in to it from two different phones half an hour apart?
    tc_Joness's avatar
A colleague tried this, his QR code stopped working after 2 days

This is a noose around their neck - I think they initially thought everyone else (Costa, Starbucks etc.,) would follow their lead.

All they’ve created is long queues in their shops and mass code sharing, while bumping up the price of the subscription and removing more and more drinks and replaced it with 20% off food to try and get people to not only go in for their ‘free’ coffee.

Heat for the price and deal but I ain’t got time to wait 20 minutes in central on my way to work for a coffee (mainly because I’m always running late ).
    Halo's avatar
You think? I think they could just axe it if they felt it wasn’t worth it - unlike Starbucks/Costa, they weren’t really known for their coffee.

It’s hard not to notice Pret has jacked up their food prices by about 50% over the last couple of years - noticeably more than anyone else not called Heinz. They were never cheap but they’re now genuinely expensive. (edited)

Does this work at airport locations, and can you send the QR to a friend or is their restrictions?
    chrisparnell's avatar
Answer is yes to both questions.
  10. kate.g's avatar
Yes it works in airports. The q code needs scanning so if you screenshot and shared no one is wiser.

Although it does probably say non transferable. (edited)
    azzap's avatar
Great, so just a case of sending the SS, and there needs to be a 30 min period between beverage purchases?

Guys from using it for a few days:

If you like a double shot ask = Strong
If you like it with flavour ask for = Syrup
If you like milk alternatives ask for = Oat or Soya

All included in the Club price

Is this just for the Waterloo branch?

No, once you join I think you are part of the Club Pret which means any Pret

Does anyone know if you can order multiple at the same time with this subscription or if they would limit to 1 coffee each time you visit
    FlyingLlama's avatar
1 per visit upto 5 times per day.
  14. richh's avatar
Didn't it used to be more than 5 a day?
    Sun_Ko's avatar
Yes, used to be unlimited when it was first released.

We have a Pret recently opened at a petrol station, not in London. They put up signs saying Club Pret isn't valid there so good idea to double check with your local Pret (if outside London) before signing up.
  16. William_'s avatar
Exeter uni pret doesn’t accept subscriptions either
    dors01's avatar
Pretty scummy to do that students.
  17. Pryda's avatar
Is this still going? My subscription is about to end, so my partner might try.
    pistachio's avatar
Just tried with my existing inactive account and it worked!!! (£10)
  18. Pryda's avatar
    Still works as of today!

    Says expired for me

I had this and the Barristas hate it. So the smoothie machine was always 'not working' and you wouldn't get the really nice seasonal coffees with cream made properly. And you get scowls. So I cancelled
    Mentos's avatar
It really depends on your local. Mine is very good with lovely staff, but Leicester Square for example is dire. Rude, slow staff, not very clean. But the coffee is usually consistent as they use B2C machines, frothing the milk shouldn’t be beyond them. At Leicester Square I just made them do it again.
  20. rodman's avatar
This used to be free first month with all the smoothies back in September 2021.
    Deal_HUNT3R's avatar
That was then. This is now.
  21. Inga3's avatar
Someone please share with me their QR code ,
    ohdearohdear's avatar
I'll share mine for £11. £1 admin fees
  22. fatoosh's avatar
This used to be free for the first month then £20 thereafter. Not the best coffee but couldn’t complain for the two months I got free (personal & work phone) lol (edited)
    Inga3's avatar
    Give me QR pls.
  23. jabbada's avatar
I did this for a few months but I hated that I always ended up at Pret having fairly horrible coffee because it was free
I'd rather have one good coffee instead of 3 totally unenjoyable ones
    Munkee's avatar
Tbf their queues have died down massively in Glasgow but their quality is went down as well . Normally went for mochas and flat whites

Just stick with nero £1 coffees mixed with Waitrose offer . Probably spend more than a tenner a month but far more enjoyable drinks
  24. gp.mitchell's avatar
This is a great deal. The wife & I share the QR code and never an issue. We’re never in the office together so opposite days mean it’s never an issue. Service is great and fast too, even in train station and city centre. As a bonus, when she signed up, she won a years worth of subscription in some sort of prize draw and the £15 and 1st month were promptly refunded. Never use the discount though as it’s massively overpriced otherwise…

Wish they'd open one in Halifax haha

I wish I had a pret closer to me, I love me a coffee and this is incredible value considering the prices... I would make my money back in 2 days.

Yeah worth it even if you have 3 drinks in a month. Also i do like their coffee
  27. Deal_HUNT3R's avatar
Glad work has a decent coffee machine for staff. Coffee prices are generally extortionate.
  28. tc_Joness's avatar
From my previous experience with Pret, ran out of lids, straws, organic cream now and then and ice during hot days. Another trick that Pret employ is changing store closing times. To sum it, it was Pret a disappointment. (edited)

I've signed up and used the code in a few Birmingham city centre branches

When you go to cancel, carry on through the survey and they will give next month for £15! Guess they have me for another month!
    celalcan's avatar
Can you do it when you still have 3 weeks to go or do you need to do it end of the month?
  32. PIPS's avatar
Signed up today, code still valid.

Very good deal. Existing subscriber and worked for me
    sdm_1985's avatar
Existing as in you already have a live subscription? Just tried and it did not work for me…

Thank you. Need to be in the office 40% of the time so this works great as I sometimes pick up food in Pret. Will see how I go for the next month
