Had to return a couple of these a year or two ago as they couldn't pick up the signal even when placed where an existing radio controlled clock is hung (near a window). Would have liked to keep them.

Sounds lie you've got too much time on your hands...

I've got this. I always have to tell it to reset its time on the morning after the BST/DST change, rather than it doing itself automatically as I'd expect.

Some of Lidl's clocks unless they are near a window tend to be fussy about updates, I know I have to move mine to the window to get the signal, and it updates ok, otherwise this is a good clock

Does the second hand make a loud noise as it travels around the face?
    I need a quiet clock.

I bought it last year and sometimes you have to reset the time. It's a waste of time.

Mine gives me a good time

Unfortunately I lost my receipt to return, later I have opted for the Digital Receipt.

We have four of these around our house. Had them for years. Very happy with them but just one of them is two minutes behind for some reason.

sounds like the factory put the minute hand on 2 minutes askew then

edit: oh, could be that it just hasn't synced - place it on a windowcill that faces Cumbria (or Germany if it's marked DCF on the back somewhere). Keep it away from electronic power supplies - they tend to generate too much radio noise polution, so a quiet bedroom window is best. (edited)

Guys if you do buy this and it does not go forward or back automatically. Then return it back for a refund or replacement

All the pics of the back of the clocks are marked DCF which is German and not MSF for U.K (edited)

I bought one from Lidl on Sunday and mine has the sticker that says MSF.

Returned 2 so far this year and now the 3rd replacement has packed up, Quality on these clocks is a joke , ive had one from Argos thats still going strong after 3 years ,

    Most unreliable clock on earth

And yet I've had a couple of these for years - and they're still going strong, still look good, and still fully functional.

I have 5 of these in my house for a few years. Th best clocks I have ever had. No need to keep changing the daylight saving time. Apparently some earlier batches had issues with the radio standard time being set up to the German one instead. None of mine had this issue. Absolute bargain for radio controlled clocks!

...but do they tick ? (audibly)

I have got one of these and couldn't be happier

I have two of these clocks and they never reset when the clocks move back in the autumn or forward in the spring. They are a pain to reset manually.

I have a manual clock. During daylight saving change I get the opportunity to clean the clock.

Glad I'm not the only one. The dust gets wiped off twice a year, like clockwork.

Compared to a radio-controlled car, I was informed by my nephew that this kinda sucks as a gift.

Waste of money. I bought it a couple of years ago and it is not working properly

Bargain. I bought it three years ago at today's price and it is still working perfectly.

It’s like the poor man’s version of the Swiss Mondaine clock, seen in Swiss 🇨🇭 train stations. I’d buy this for style if an identical copy.

Mines been working brilliantly for nearly 4 years. I bought it on 15.10.19 for £7.99 and it was working a couple of days ago. I saw this and just looked at it and it had stopped. First change of battery for 4 years. It rest in a couple of minutes to the correct time. Tempted to get another (but I'm restraining myself as I don't need one) The temp was always out by 2C, but I just knocked off 2 and I kept it for the accurate time rather than returning it.
Apart from that I would recommend it highly.

Be wary, mine constantly sets itself to 2 hours ahead. Responsible for me to be only one in office at 7am on Monday morning.

Is the second hand a smooth sweep movement?

Picked up a couple of these last year for £5 each from a discount area, or at least they look the same, I was initially very happy till i noticed they jump forward 2 hours every now and again, the one in my outside workshop did it only last night. I took the one in my office down as I just couldn't trust it. Shame really as other wise they are really good. (edited)

This clock is a pain in the neck. It works fine and keeps good time for a while, maybe a month or two then it loses 2 hours and stays two hours behind time. Sometimes it will correct itself but more often than not I have to take it down from the wall, remove the the battery reinstall the battery and press the "Reset" button to correct the right time.
A waste of time and money.
Don't waste your money on this cheap and cheerful tatt!

DCF is German, MSF is UK

This seems to be a common issue with any radio or satellite controlled clock from lidl. I had a digital one that had temperature etc and it would become unreliable.

I have a Prime Time Clock with is radio controlled, has not missed a beat, But my dad dropped it and now the second hand does not move but still accurate, and no tick tok sound. Win WIn.
  27. neilcaldwell's avatar
Makes you wonder why Lidl even sell non MSF Radio Controlled clocks only meant for the German market (and other EU countries possibly) in the UK? Most people won;t return them as technically you could manually set the time, but that kind of defeats the whole point!
  28. LaurenceGough's avatar
Mine was msf all ok apart from the humidity reading which is 20-30% off. Is anyone else's humidity reading pointless?

I wasn't expecting it to be accurate but at least within 10%.

This is tested against multiple other ones.
