Done it with a Raspberry Pi3 + various bits I found on Amazon, including a controller board to interface Pi with screen and some new buttons (the default one are pretty poor). Result is pretty impressive, took me a couple of weekends to set it all up

Are these cabinets normally abit filmsy?
What's the name of what's inside of them and how do you add roms? Is it through USB or over the network?Not flimsy in the slightest, build quality is pretty good. Buttons & stick aren’t the greatest but they can be swapped out for something more robust if they break. Have a look at r/arcade1up subreddit for loads of info. Essentially though this one can be soft modded the same as the Simpson’s cab can .(edited)
Will this include the riser?
Yes it does
I have heard that the edging next to the sticks / buttons interfere with comfort when playing. Maybe something to take into consideration?
Yes it does a bit, need to just sand the corner down to make it smooth- Disappointing selection of games included.
