Woah... 6.75 kg, that's a heavy bag, must be built like a tank. (edited)

I looked at that too as it was putting me off but a reviewer has commented:-

Great suitcase. Solid and easy to manoeuvre with ample space. I’ve already used this case for a trip abroad. One point to note is that the specification reads as though the weight is 6.75kg when in fact it’s 4.8kg, which aligns to other suitcases of the same size made from polycarbonate

Still won’t buy as the reviews in general are poor.

Not bought from Costco before but you can't buy without having a membership is that right?

You can buy without being a member by having a Costco Gift card 👀💪🏼

On lookout for a Samsonite but the reviews on this one aren’t great. Will pass.

All luggage these days seem to have the same plastic stick out wheels, must all be made in the same Chinese factory. you're lucky if they last a few trips before wheels are broken.

Warranty is 100% worthless, as they will ask you to claim from airline. (edited)

I've done a full on autist 8 days of research on the topic and almost got a briggs and riley for £300 but took to long to decide, hilariously tripp seem to have a great after sales support so i just got the zipperless bag there. it should give me a few years until I find another second hand B&R. The Tripp cases look almost identical to a couple of samsonite cases (when you look at certain details), same with the antler and other typical ones. Only thing they cheap out on is they don't use polycarbonate. But cracks etc can be (with difficulty) refunded by the airline if you notice them in time.

Doesn't say the warranty length... Based on the label on this video review, it may not be a long one? (Samsonite website says warranties can be 2-10 years).

Yeah but I don't think any luggage manufacturer would easily cough up.
There are always tons of caveats, exclusions and straight up excuses - usually pertaining to wear & tear or wilful damage.

I'd love to see any suitcase survive unscathed through a Turkish airport.

Bought 2 sets of these last year when they were being sold with the cabin case. They are excellent, lightweight(ish) and yet built like tanks!

Highly maneuverable, surprisingly spacious, and very durable. After 16 long haul flights (8 trips), both sets still look almost brand new.

Personal I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Hi, can you confirm the actual weight of this case as every site says 6.75kg which seems quite heavy not lightweight . Thanks
  7. meetjigar's avatar
You can't call it light weight if it weights 8kgs on its own.

Too small for a large one
  10. pokemon2's avatar
Got it but it not large so no one used it for long distance travel. It is solid but if it is too small. It is no use

If you can stretch your budget, try to get a model without zipper, but with clips. Like older S’cure Spinner
    wendy07's avatar
If not, use straps which might help. But best is not to put anything in you're unhappy to lose.
  12. r9000's avatar
Doesn't seem worth the high price. When you look at it carefully, apart from the lock (which is useless, TSA keys are widely available and very easy to pick) it seems to be exactly the same as what IT sells for a fraction of the price.
    wendy07's avatar
Depends whether you want polycarbonate or polypropylene or abs. Polycarbonate tends to be the more pricey.

Polycarbonate is the strongest and abs the most rigid but prone to cracking.

Many do recommend polypropylene as a mid way choice because of its strength and flexibility but it does scratch easily. (edited)

What is warranty on this? I received today but does not have warranty card as you find in most Samsonite suitcases

Pity it has zips and not locking clips. Suppose its OK for a carry on tho

Does anyone know if this is online only or instore too? Sorry if it's been mentioned and I missed it. Thank you!

Also I think this deal currently active now works out slight better tripp.co.uk/tri…444

I understand Samsonite is known for being really durable, but at 6.75 kg, a 68cm suitcase is extremely heavy. Consider that out of your 23kg allowance, 30% is the suitcase itself…
    HHNNNGGG's avatar
I just got a Tripp 75mm hardcase and I thought it weighing 4.9KG was a bit OTT
