Just wondering as my router is about 30m from my nearest camera (edited)
Can you not just have the cameras with an app?
One being centralised storage for all of your CCTV devices. But with the devices all having either built in shortage and/or expandable storage this isn't a big selling point.
It can also act as a chime for your doorbells etc.
The main selling point is that the Homebase has the BionicMind AI built into it, which provides each of the individual CCTV units with enhanced AI capabilities to reduce false detections.
if you’ve never had one, you can add a drive for it to save footage. It has some extra functions like ai face recognition for the cameras.
Got the solar outdoor camera last week and already have their doorbell so this homebase will allow for some very good AI (for example, it'll recognise you and therefore won't send a notification). Plus you can bung up to 16TB of a 2.5 SSD (purchased a 1TB version today).
Thanks.
I am assuming that the cameras remain connected to the wifi, and this connects to the wifi, and that is how they communicate wqith one another? Or does this thing broadcast its own network which the cameras then connect to? If the latter, range may be an issue. Can't really find a satisfactory explaination online. Does anybody already have one?
Needs a wired connection somewhere on your network. Cameras send their footage to it. Can take a 2.5" HDD up to 16GB - I have a 2GB in mine.
The big benefit, when my cameras support it is that you can tell it friendly faces so it won't alert you to those.
