    Got the email but filled up the night before, just my luck

    Good extra discount for the month of December for anyone with one of these cards.

    Don’t forget to swipe your Nectar card too and check the partner offers on the Nectar app before buying fuel as sometimes you can activate extra bonus points. If you’re refuelling at an Esso that has a Tesco Express attached then you can’t use your Nectar card but you can use your Clubcard instead. (edited)

    I filled up at an Esso a cpl of days ago and the receipt is headed Asda.
    Cashier explained that many Esso forecourts are Asda owned so it makes you wonder whether they use the same quality fuel as their Asda Superstore forecourts.

    Across the road is an Asda petrol station which I deliberately avoided in the first place and paid 4p per litre more in the hope of getting better quality fuel.

    Is that from this year? Date is wrong - says Wednesday 5th December
    My fuelpecker card gives 5p for diesel already, so doubt it’s being increased to 10p

    The 31st is a Sunday though, so must be a simple mistake. I got the email too. Its a rise from 4p to 8p discount on standard diesel.

    I know nothing about the WEX Esso card. Is there a catch?

    is “synergy” fuel their bog standard product (price advertised at forecourt), or some posho expensive premium fuel?

    Just pay with the Wex card and they’ll charge the bank card you linked it with the discounted rate.

    With the Esso Fuel Card, do you need to keep it topped up, or will it take payment directly from your bank/credit card?

    You link a debit/credit card to it and they charge you the discounted rate a couple of days after filling up.

    My account is still showing the regular discount so assuming it's invite only. Has anyone got a link to a page saying it's an offer for all BLC WEX card holders?

    I got the email but when logged into the WEX website it still shows the old rate, so it may be that the double discount applies to everyone but they just haven’t updated the website. Could be worth asking on live chat during opening hours.

    For anyone uncertain about a Blue Light Card, it is not just limited to Emergency Services, Former Armed Forces also qualify.

    When did it become OK for all retailers to start hiding discounts behind loyalty schemes or cards / apps its becoming a joke these days it's almost too difficult to buy anything and expect a good price without fafing about

    So just confirmed on live chat this double rate is only for those who got the email. Apparently it's a rolling offer and different people get emailed every month. So essentially just for the OP but thanks for raising awareness as I didn't even know this card was available
