🎒 Luggage Information: Flight includes a standard cabin carry bag/backpack. You can pay extra for a hand carry if you need more space. Check prices on the Wizz Air website.
For easy packing, consider the Cabin Max Anode 24L TwinWheel, a perfect fit for Wizz Air requirements. Get it on Amazon: [Cabin Max Anode 24L TwinWheel] amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C5N5YF8S? Bought one of these, solid and good use of space, number one seller on Amazon!
🏨 Accommodations: Hotels in Makkah range from £100-£150 for 4 nights, depending on your budget. Consider Al Kiswah Hotel, budget-friendly and one of the tallest buildings in Makkah, offering a free shuttle bus to Masjid al Haram within 5-10 minutes. Hotels in Madinah are also around £100-£150 for 3 nights, with various options on booking.com or other sites. I personally stayed in Al Mayar Hotel, it’s a 10 min drive from Masjid an Nabawi, right next to the must-see Dar al Madinah Museum. I’ve added photos of the hotel locations in red if it helps, but choose whichever one of your own choice.
🚆 Transportation Tips: Avoid local taxis with meters as they usually charge high prices. CAREEM app for reliability and affordability, followed by BOLT. Uber is a third option. Ensure that you grab a local SIM as you will need this to register on the apps You can pick SIMs from the any of the network providers like STC, Mobily or Zain counters available at the airports. Alternatively use an e-SIM package via online sites or apps like Airalo before you depart UK. Make your journey hassle-free! 🚀🌟
🚄 Haramain Rail Train: Experience the convenience of the high-speed Haramain Rail train, connecting Makkah station to Madinah station in just over 2 hours! It’s super fast, reasonably priced, and offers exceptional comfort for a seamless transition between these sacred cities. Download the HHR app and you can book your tickets for as little as £5 from Jeddah to Makkah. From Makkah to Madinah the ticket is around £50-£70 return ticket, it does vary. Consider this efficient option to enhance your spiritual journey. 🌟🚄
Luggage Restrictions on Haramain Rail ✨
Be aware of luggage restrictions on the Haramain Railway. Cabin/carry-on luggage is generally accepted, but larger checked-in suitcases may not be permitted onboard. Instead, you can book these larger items with the Saudi Railway (SPL) courier service at the train station. They will ship it to your destination train station within 24 hours.
🏖️ Larnaca Stay: Hotels are super budget-friendly, starting from just £20 for a night's stay. Relax and unwind before and after your spiritual break. I personally stayed in Sunflower Hotel Apartments.
💴 Flights + Hotels + Transport + Food etc shouldn’t be more than £500 on a budget.
🕋 Umrah Preparation:
For a seamless Umrah experience, consider carrying your ‘IHRAM’ in a carrier bag from London. Wear it at your hotel or at Larnaca airport before departing for Jeddah. Please note that Larnaca airport doesn’t provide designated areas, other than washrooms, for ihram changes. Once on board the plane to Jeddah, the crew will announce when the aircraft approaches the meeqaat. Seize this moment to make your intention for Umrah and recite the prescribed supplications. Begin your sacred journey with heartfelt dedication. 🙏🤲✨
🚰 Carrying ZamZam Water:
Bringing back the sacred ZamZam water is a cherished tradition for many Umrah pilgrims. Wizz Air permits ZamZam water as checked-in luggage since liquids are not prohibited. However, it’s crucial to note that Wizz Air won’t be liable for any damage. I personally wouldn’t bring ZamZam as the extra cost to pay can easily be over £70+ and you can buy the same ZamZam in the UK in many places for around £30. In any case if you buy the extra allowance for checked-in luggage, ensure the safe transport of this precious cargo, pack it securely using suitable padding and protective measures.🛅✨
✈️ Personal Experience: Alhamdulillah, I've taken this journey multiple times, and each experience has been smooth and easy. Wizz Air has consistently provided reliable and comfortable flights, making the entire Umrah journey a blessing. May your journey be as seamless and spiritually uplifting as mine. 🤲🌍
🌟 Blessed Journey: Have a blessed journey, and may you return safely, Ameen 🤲🌍

Depends on your personal circumstances, what nationality you have, other visas, etc. basic information for standard British passport holders as well as broader travel advice for Saudi available as always from the FCDO
gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/saudi-arabia/entry-requirements
If you have more exotic nationality or documentation then you probably need to consult the Saudi Embassy website which will also have the links for visa applications

1. You only get a Zamzam allowance of 5 litres per person performing Umrah. You collect your 5L at Jeddah Airport on your return journey, it's outside Departures - just present your passport & Umrah visa to the desk there (you'll see piles and piles of Zamzam water boxes!). Write your Name/place a mark on it, there will be lots of Zamzam boxes and they will all look identical coming out the baggage belt at your destination!
2. I don't know the logistics of returning with the Zamzam on this return route, will you be charged for having to check this Zamzam into 'hold' luggage as you CANNOT carry it with you onto the plane? Also if you are checking out to stay at Larnaca for 1 nightand checking back in for your final flight to return to UK...what happens to the Zamzam, do you collect it from baggage and attempt to check it in again?
3. Use Uber/Careem from Jeddah airport, ignore the fake taxi drivers at Arrivals hall as they harrass you and overcharge. Once out at Arrivals go to your left and take the lifts down 1 floor to the official green/black taxi area - the Careem/Uber pick-up zone is on your right. Around 230-250SAR is what I paid in 2023 for 1 way trip JED to Makkah - this is for the entire taxi so could be up to 4 people.
4. In order to book Careem/Uber you need a working SIM, get an e-sim from Airalo (assuming your phone supports e-sims, check this first) and add it to your existing phone as an extra SIM. Buy the Saudi or Global e-sim (global might make more sense as will work in Cyprus too!), install the Airalo app and other apps you need BEFORE you leave home/UK. Activate the e-sim and switch your phone data usage over to it just before you land and voila - u have data as soon as you land!
5. On the Haramain railway there is a restriction on luggage size you can bring on-board with you. Cabin/carry-on luggage is fine but larger checked-in suitcases may not be permitted (you might be lucky), you have to instead book these in with the Saudi Railway (SPL) courier service at the train station and they ship it over to you within 24 hours to your destination train station
Safe travels.
I’ll add it to my OP.
Flight times are a tad concerning, quite poor to be frank (re getting to hotels on time / some might have a check-in maximum) - especially flights 1 and 3. Could be a bit hectic, probably worth spreading the dates a bit more (but then you would have the concerns of lack of baggage (which would cost much more than the flights) and the hotel costs to factor in. If there's delays and cancellations it wouldn't be too great given you have to sort it out with Wizz, which aren't exactly renowned for their customer service (which is why I'd recommend spreading the flights over more than just 16hrs)
Also as it's a slightly longer flights, you would need food & meals as Wizz don't provide those - might be hard to also add that to the "free" luggage allowance. Worth remembering the visa as others have mentioned
Other than those factors, you can't grumble too much at this price, if you're more of an adventurous traveller. My main tip would to not just jump onto this due to the headline price (it can easily add up & turn into something you didn't expect) i.e. drip-pricing - but the factors are fair when it's this cheap (edited)
Here's an example itinerary for £144:

Refer to my comment here for a bit more info re wizzair
For those that have booked or deciding to book, do not forget to do your istikhara beforehand and make much dua for Allāh to grant ya’ll ease and protect you on the blessed journey.
Again I’d advise this trip is for the solo traveller or a couple at best, be patient and alhamdulillah in all situations, make your best effort and have good thoughts of Allāh upon this journey. Accept the good and the bad whatever may come. Humble yourselves and remember the purpose of the journey.
May Allāh accept it from everyone and bring them back safe home.. ameen ya rabb 🤲
I recently came back from Umrah and in my opinion one thing is for sure, you do need your creature comforts to be able to perform Umrah properly - add in luggage and a price of well located hotels then it does become expensive.. but as you have highlighted its not for everyone, but just not for me.
Not sure the status of WizzAir but a friend return recently via a similar sort of deal and I wasnt allowed zamzam back.
Good luck to those going though - if you guys are in Madina definitely check out Dar ul Madinah museum BEFORE going on your ziyarats. Its an eye opener
Of course, you might be able to get away with just the "free allowance" (but it is 9+ days):
Also, does anybody know how many tickets you can book on Wizz Discount Membership? So if two of us are going, do we need to buy two memberships and then book or can we add 2 tickets on one membership, please advise.
I tried to book for my friend but my account said I have to be traveling with him to get discount.
from England! (edited)
Over the past 15 years, I've used both RY and Wizz about 50 times. I had a small problem once with RY, while with Wizz, at least 25% of the time when I used them, I hit brick walls. With Easyjet, I never had problems.
Nothing to do with this deal, which got my hot vote, but IMO Wizzair should be banned due to their practices. Unfortunately, not many airlines fly where I often go, so I have to use them. (edited)
Booked for two people, added luggage (I need stuff lol).

Buzzing Amazing end to 2023 & great start to 2024! (edited)
I stayed in Sunflower Hotel Apartments in Larnaca, it’s about £40 a night so nice if you’re sharing the cost. In Madinah I found one about a 10 min drive from Masjid an Nabawi, it’s right next to the Dar al Madinah Museum, must see if you haven’t already. Hotel is Al Mayar Hotel, it’s Four star. Lots of nice food places on the same street.
