I’ve been on the lookout for a good quality treadmill for under £1,000 for a while.  This one appeared after dropping £250.  The spec and features look to be top notch for a treadmill.

    You get a 2 year warranty from Reebok as well. We bought the GT40S on offer from argos new for 470. Speed sensor and control board are already shot after 2 months. Just waiting for the engineer. Was ready to go to war and got nothing but help, which was pleasantly surprising.

    Motor went on my GT40S after about 15 months.
    They posted me a replacement motor that I fitted myself.
    No other trouble in 3 or 4 years I have had it

    Definitely worth getting 2nd hand if you don't know whether you're going to use it much. £200-£300 buys you a decent treadmill e.g. Reebok GT40s. Definitely go for power incline as it allows a lot of variety e.g. uphill power walking as well as jogging/running. Don't worry about the motor hp or top speed if you're starting out - anything will be faster than you for a while

    A Reebok GT40 would be a crap choice for myself as only up to 17st 5lbs!

    So which is better to buy, a running machine or a cycle machine for hanging the coats on? After the end of January I doubt people will use them for anything else. I currently have a Weider multigym that is capable of a good week of laundry (edited)

    I'd be tempted with this from Costco - a little more but the 2.75 continous motor will be decent and they are very reliable.
