My advice, DON'T PAY. Paying allows you to complete specialisations and get a certificate. A specialisation is a number of Coursera courses that once you have completed all of them you get awarded the specialisation certificate.

    1. Certificates don't get you jobs. Take certificates IF you're already working and you have some experience behind you.
    2. If you don't pay how can you do a specialisation? Well it's simple you go to the specialisation you're interested in and get a list of all the courses in the specialisation.

So take this Calarts Graphic Design Specialization (sorry about the z it's a USA based platform) >

    coursera.org/spe…omo

    Select the Courses tab >

Now you'll see the courses listed from Course 1 to Course 5 in the case of this specialisation and the names of each course. What you do is start at Course 1 so in this example that is Fundamentals of Graphic Design. Select this and click on Enroll >

Now a pop up window appears and right at the bottom click on "Audit the course". Now you can work through the course for free. The caveats are you can't do assignments or get the assignments marked. Getting assignment marked is possibly the biggest con of Coursera, your course cohorts mark each other's work and most will just pass you regardless of what you do.

So only pay if you really need that certificate and you have the false belief that certificate will get you a job. Otherwise Audit the course, and then do your own assignments based on what you've learnt from auditing the course.

How do I know all this? I've paid myself and completed a Google UX/UI Design Specialisation so I've done the whole process of doing the assignments, submitting them and getting the certificate. This was before I realised that save your money and Audit the courses for free.

There are University courses which cost a few thousand £ each these aren't part of Coursera Plus and must be paid for seperately so this deal doesn't cover that.

    TL;DR

Audit each specialisation course for free, save your money.

Some jobs I was interested in required a degree or equivalent qualification in that particular field. There are a few courses that are worth the investment like the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate.

WOW! Just £165 for courses which are mostly free on Youtube.

They aren't free on YouTube unless they are pirated versions.
