Worthwhile to take a look if this applies to your account! The big change/today's deal: Today they seem to have unofficially opened it up to the past 12 months. I picked up 55K avios for about half the cost of buying them at the regular price for non boost purchase.
Avios boost usually allows you to buy avios points at £0.0092/avios for points balances earned within the last 30 days (e.g. Points earned through a BA avios Amex) up to 3x the points earned in that period. It's half as expensive as buying avios and cheaper than subscribing to avios. It seems to have opened up to the past 12 months earned avios
vs the normal £0.01295/avios when you subscribe yearly to 20K avios - paid monthly (1,666/month deposited into your account)
Or the normal purchase prices buying avios ranging from £0.021/avios and not improving much, even when accounting for their semi annual 40% bonus points promo that recently ended. Even with that promo the price was 143% the boost price.
Regular price of purchasing avios
5K £105 (47.62avios/£) £0.021/avios
10K £195 (51.28avios/£)
15K £279 (53.76avios/£)
20K £369 (54.20avios/£)
25K £459 (54.47avios/£)
30K £545 (55.05avios/£) £0.018/avios
FYI No, I don't work for BA, avios, etc. I just like deals.
BONUS TIPS FOR MORE FREE AVIOS
You can exchange nectar points to avios at a rate of 400nectar:250avios. I usually get 100avios+about 800nectar points on a £100 Sainsbury's shop with buying bonus nectar items and a 3x nectar voucher that always seems to be available to me, so about 600avios/shop after conversion. If you sign up for "avios for thoughts" you can get points for completing surveys and also boost those points at a rate of 0.0092/avios. I usually do a few a week while watching something.
WHY GO THROUGH THE TROUBLE
I recently booked a 2 person return flight LHR-Tokyo Haneda direct for £560+companion voucher+50K avios (most of which I received from credit card spend and nectar points). Very affordable in my opinion at just £280/pp out of pocket! The regular BA price for the direct flight with luggage included was £4,200 (fairly typical for 2 direct tickets return from hearthrow to Tokyo, with stopover flights being a bit cheaper). My voucher + 50K avios gave £3,640off & a nearly 87% discount. It's basically opened up the world of travel for my family. If your partner or friend also gets a BA Amex, you'll get 2 companion vouchers each year.

At 0.92p it works out at £205 or £230 return in Club.
It would work out £123 or £132 on the same plane for Economy with Avios, so it works out £40-£50 each way. Which is not necessarily a no-brainer - a 7am 40 minute flight and you're basically paying £40 for a croissant and a priority seat, which even Ryanair wouldn't charge that much for.
OTOH you sometimes find availability in economy but not club or vice versa, and competing options can cost more, so it's worth having the option. Just wouldn't agree that it's always a good deal at all.
One other way I maximise on Avios is Airbnb. Go through the executive club store to get points too. Most of mine last year were this method. Great as Airbnb are not on cashback sites!

Word of warning though, I’ve had a couple of Airbnb stays not credited as it didn’t track, and their support is trash! (edited)
Around £90 per 10k avios
Its ok value assuming you actually need that many Avios...
I got 2 return tickets to Tokyo in may (peak season) with a companion voucher for £560 +50k avios
If you're just using the regular booking system it just gives minor discounts for using your avios (edited)
Tempting, but I’ll have to pass on this occasion
My 1x boost comes out at 0.96p per avios
2x boost is 1.15p
3x boost is 1.35p
Your 3x boost is 1.56p
Good deal, heated added.
Edit: I have contacted support and they are aware - they recommended trying again throughout the day. (edited)
e.g. 20,000 avios, boosted at x3 = 60,000 + 20,000 or just 60,000?
Am I doing something wrong? thats for 2 people with companion voucher.
I’ve got approx 26k avios with the option to boost approx 5k worth of avios from 2023 purchases (up to x3 if I want to).
Is there any point in me doing it? 5k avios looks like small beer compared to numbers I am seeing quoted on here.
still there are deals to be had. Get a companion voucher and make it 2 for 1 flights as well (edited)
This might also help anyone undecided before tonight's midnight promotion end. You could go ahead and purchase and then if you change your mind request a refund within 14 days.
I've done the boost a few times since it launched in June and used this to boost some from earlier in the year. I do have a specific goal for my redemption with a Companion Voucher. It is the lowest cost way currently to get avios without getting them for 'free' with credit card spend or points back spend.
I have a million and can never redeem them. Well, not “never” but hardly ever. And it’s getting worse. BA is deteriorating. Flew business to HK in October and it was dismal.
Keep your cash and spend it on decent airlines.
One exception: occasionally European flights like Geneva or Majorca are incredibly expensive for cash like £200 each way and yet are available for say 10,000 Avios, maybe even business class for that. It’s worth it and that’s generally where I spend my avioS.
(£2.76 to buy 300 Avios with 3 x boost would convert to 400 nectar points worth £2) (edited)
Tempting, but I’ll have to pass on this occasion
But having said that, I took out the card in the last 12mths and got a 70k bonus, so currently my 3x boost gives me 310k avios for under £3000.....
I wonder if it'll stick around for future years! too good a deal compared to buying or subscribing
IMHO better to get in before the door closes (if it does!)
You can boost beyond 300k in a year but the cost per Avios rises so it doesn't become worthwhile.
I can buy 1,125 Avios for £10.35 so 0.9p per Avios. (edited)
£277.40
costs more than i get
